In the latter case there's no crash report or anything in my log. Is there maybe a way to turn on more verbose logging?

I do not have any obscure mods installed, just network extensions, and traffic manager.

Can you upload your player.log somewhere anyways? There might not be anything that looks out of the ordinary for you, but maybe we can spot something helpful. :)

I suggest you do a clean install of the game. It sounds like it didn't move properly. Moving the files manually might have messed up something. Just make sure to back up any saves you have.

- Uninstall the game through Steam
- Manually delete all these files and folders, if still there:

...\Steam\steamapps\common\Cities_Skylines\
...\Steam\SteamApps\workshop\content\255710\
...\AppData\Local\Colossal Order\Cities_Skylines
(first move the /saves/ folder elsewhere to keep your save games)
(To see the AppData folder you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer)

Can you upload another log with all the mods and the Safe Mode options enabled? The lower amount of errors might get us to the cause of the problem easier.

Sorry for the late answer! Christmas stole me away from Steam. :P

Hmm, good that clearing traffic fixes the error. Then it's a question of what's causing trouble for your metro. What if you make a little test for metro. Plop 2 stations close together and connect them with a straight line, then set up a line between them. Does that work?

Make sure no aditional audiomanagers are installed. (Like Alienware Audio, ASUS Sonic Studio, etc). (Realtek Audio is fine, that's the main driver)

Check that the Audio Depth is set to 16 bit.

If this happened after a Windows Update, reinstall your audio drivers.

Try adding these two mods, enable them, restart the game and check that the Safe Mode options are still enabled.

If you remove the launcher following the steps in this thread, then it tries to install automatically when you press Play in Steam. Might be worth trying again, I saw someone yesterday where it worked the 2nd time. No idea why the first one didn't do the trick, but while you wait for the email, that's worth a try again I guess.

Most likely a file for the launcher has been corrupted, either just randomly (it happens, Windows usually just fixes normal files) or while trying to update the launcher. Not sure what's causing the reinstall to not work. :/

Try verifying the game files through Steam. Here's how that's done:

Sounds like a broken mod. Start by checking all your subscribed mods against this list of known broken mods. Remove/replace any you might have.

Add these two mods, enable them, restart the game, make sure the Loading Screen Mod's Safe Mode options are still enabled, then try again.

Where did you upload it to? Maybe Steam doesn't like the site. You can try and replace the . in the url with a space instead. Then Steam should ignore it.

Unfortunately I'm not able to help with the launcher beyond the steps to reinstall it. So if that doesn't work, then you will need to contact Paradox Support. Hopefully the confirmation email appears today.

Let's start by removing old broken mods. Remove these and get the replacements where available:

- Automatic Bulldoze v2 - get version 3 instead
- Extended Public Transport UI - this was added to the game long ago, the mod is not needed and likely broken

Then get the Loading Screen Mod, make sure to enable it and then go into Options. Find it on the left, then find the Safe Mode options and enable them all. Then try loading your save.
