Are we talking about a custom map you made yourself? Or does it also happen with default maps?

I recommend a much larger pagefile and it's better to not split it. With 64 GB of RAM I'd set it to at least 64 GB, but you can go for 128 GB just fine. Just make sure it's on a drive that has that much free space.

I also think it’s not the mods. I removed the suggested ones and did not fix the problem.
I will follow your advice and redo all bus transport lines. But what I don't understand is how long bus lines can interfere with metro lines, for example, they are also failing or disappearing. So it is with monorails and trains. I have even remade the city's three line replaced by subway, and I left it for cargo only.
So I think it is something bigger than the complexity of the bus lines.
Thanks also for indicating the tutorials, I will watch.

Metro (and train) lines usually fail because of too sharp angles. Since Sunset Harbor we can't have sharp turns for... Read more

It simply disabled the functions of the mod while allowing for the bare minimum of it to run, and allows you to open the save game and continue playing it

Did you save the game after you started the mod? And are now trying to launch that save without the mod? That is usually what causes the issue with Real Time mod. I do believe that the mod itself does offer a ghost mode which would allow you to run the save again but without the mod being fully active

Honestly looking at it, I would say your issue is the space elevator. Those produce huge amounts of passengers, as such your network might just not be able to cope with the influx. Passengers are still entering and exiting the vehicles, but the capacity is lacking to take all of them as quickly as they arrive from the space elevator.

First thing to figure out is if it's related to mods/assets. To do that add the launch options -noWorkshop and -disableMods then start a new city to test. You don't have to build anything, we just need to see if it saves properly.

How To Set Launch Options
  • Right-click on the game title under the Library in Steam and select Properties.
  • Under the General tab click the Set launch options... button.
  • Enter the launch options you wish to apply (be sure to separate each code with a space) and click OK. Should look like this:
    -noWorkshop -disableMods
  • Close the game's Properties window and launch the game.

First things first. I really recommend you save manually, and make a new save each time. This one is an autosave, and it's never great to have that be your main and only save. I add a number at the end each time I save, so I have CityName1, CityName2, CityName3 and so on.

I don't think this is a mod issue, I think it's the way the roads and lines are set up. You have some very long and complicated transport lines, and as far as I can tell, they're the ones that are broken. In trying to fix one, I came across this green line:

https://i.imgur.com/Jy1o2Lk.jpg

Notice how it's going all over the place on the highway? It's getting trapped in all the one way roads trying to get to the next stop. It's not ideal and I get confused just looking at that image, trying to track down where it's going. :P

I would redesign the lines having ... Read more

Do you use any mods to unlock the buildings first? Otherwise, you will have to reach milestones for them first before being able to use them.
Most campus DLC buildings require to be placed within a Campus Zone. You can access that in the zone painter.

Do you have any mods enabled that deal with vehicle selection?

Set up a custom sized pagefile of 32 GB (that's 32000 MB since pagefiles are measured in MB). That should do the trick. Here's a guide that explains how. :)

If you can post your savegame, we might be able to see what's happening. To do that, go to the Content Manager, find Savegames on the left, find your save and click Share. Then give it a name and a description if you'd like, click Upload and copy the url of the page that opens. Post that here and we'll be able to download the save ourselves. :)

We'll need to see the output_log.txt (called player.log on Mac and Linux) to see what's causing it. Here's where to find the log depending on your operating system. To easily find the local files for the game, right click your game in the Steam library, select Properties, go to the Local Files tab and select Browse local files.

Windows
\SteamApps\common\Cities_Skylines\Cities_Data\output_log.txt

Mac OS X
Users//Library/Logs/Unity/Player.log

Linux
~/.config/unity3d/Colossal Order/Cities: Skylines/Player.log

As we can't attach files here on Steam, you will need to upload the file somewhere else. Here's a few sites you can upload it to, which do not require you to sign up first:

https://uploadfiles.io/ - free, no sign-up, can handle large log files

It generally takes 3 to 8 minutes to load - my computer's not exactly a Formula 1. I'm just wondering how much of the game is on my hard drive, which should be a consistent load speed, and how much I have to pull down from the cloud every time, for which time can vary as everybody and their dog is doing Netflix on a Saturday night slowing down the internet as a whole.
All the game's files are stored on your hard drive. The only thing saved on the cloud would be your save games if you enabled that option, however, those are small files.

Then the file I need is called output_log.txt

If your Steam is installed in the default location, it will be found here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Cities_Skylines\Cities_Data

Wrong file I'm afraid. That's one called GameOverlayUI.exe.log.last - I need the output_log.txt (called player.log on Mac and Linux).

See my previous response for where to find it and some file sharing sites you can use. Any cloud drive (like Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, iCloud etc) will also work.
