When you say 'load a map" do you mean load a saved game? Or start a new campaign? Or both?

The problem is this is almost certainly a video driver problem:

Your nVidia driver is from 2016 ... is there really not a single one since then that can run Fantasy Grounds ?  

In the game launcher please set Display mode to windowed.

Nothing of interest recorded in that dxdiag except a Windows UPdate Failure. If you run Update does it load okay? Find anything to apply?

Then given what we see in that error log, please try this:

- uninstall the nVidia driver and all other nVidia software
- reboot
- install the latest again by fresh download from here:
Download Drivers | NVIDIA - reboot again

I hope that does it for you!

Did you try windowed display mode, as I suggested above? Because I see it's still in fullScreen.  

Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-CK3
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/CK3 AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3 folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add CK3.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam CK3 or Documents CK3 locations, before installing again.

I hear it is in intensive internal testing right now. They rarely announce fixed dates because it depends so strongly on how those tests go.

It is possible it will come out as a public beta first though, not sure about that.  

I hear that the next patch 1.3.2 will have a strong MP focus, hopefully that will help with these issues!  

FYI the only supported distro for this game is Ubuntu, so there may be limits on how much we can help here. TBH I had not heard of Solus until now!

Does this also affect CK2, HOI4, or EU4?

All threads in bug reports are read and investigated as appropriate, even if not replied to. Sorry that makes it seem like they are ignored, but they are not!

FYI the next patch 1.3.2 will be very MP focussed, as I hear it.

I see, that is a shame. I take it you still don't want to do a reinstall of either Win 8.1 or go up to 10?

In technical terms, all I know of is later versions of Visual C++ 2015/17/19 and some video drivers.

Well sure, the mod author would have to publish it. I though this was a mod you'd made.  

That is the error you get when you run Paradox Launcher.exe directly, yes. It is designed to only be run from Steam or our standalone Paradox client.

I suspect not, because the launcher for Gamepass edition is in the game folder and is inaccessible to users.

You could publish the mod to the Paradox site then subscribe to it there.
