See if there is a fix in the next patch 1.3.1 when it becomes public.

If not, I guess you should make a new thread in Bug Reports with a save showing the issue under that patch.

Sorry abotu all that!

Sorry but I can't help with gameplay advice, I don't actually play this game. Please try the main forum!

I've had one report this is due to the new DLC Northern Lords. Do you still get this if you start a new game, where the host has that DLC disabled?

Opening a support ticket on a weekend gets me too, I'm afraid :(

I will raise this with Paradox on Monday.

Meantime, is anyone in a position to try a Windows reinstall, which helped @FalseArc1 above? Because that would imply this is an Xbox app or MS S... Read more

In the game launcher please set Display mode to windowed.

IF that doesn't help, Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-CK3
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/CK3 AND Documents/Paradox/CK3 folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add CK3.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.

In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam CK3 or Documents CK3 locations, before installing again.

THEN go here:

I see now this is called out in the 1.30 patch notes:

Crusader Kings 3 Dev Diary #52 - 1.3 ‘Corvus’ Patch Notes

Greetings! Today is the release of Northern Lords, and with it the free 1.3 patch that we’ve dubbed ‘Corvus’ in honor of Odin’s ravens! We’ve teased parts of the patch notes in previous Dev Diaries, but this time we’ll post them all - rough... Read more

Thinking about it, CK3 does seem to be fussier with unusual USB devices, it doesn't like various game controllers and joysticks for instance. Although in those cases the game simply will not start!

You are welcome to post this as a game bug in the Bug Reports forum here, but I have to say as this is my first report ever IIRC on a Wacom I'm not sure it will attract a very high priority!

The only other thing I can think of would be to contact Wacom support and see if they have any configuration suggestions for these symptoms.

Good luck!

If there are saves that reliably trigger crashes in an unmodded game, please make a new thread in Bug Reports and attach them there, thanks!

I see nothing in common in those three dxdiag files, unfortunately. One of you was able to recreate the log files after deletion, the other two not. One has no errors at the end of dxdiag, the other two do but quite different ones. One AMD video system, two different nVidia ones.

Let's check th ebasics are in place; Install ALL these Microsoft modules:

This may be an issue with that nVidia driver, as it has not been updated for 3 years on 8.1 . Any chance you can go to Win10?

I just timed CK3 on my iMac, from PLAY in the launcher to the main menu was under 3 minutes. I am also on 11.2.3 and have 4.2 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 , 32gb ram, and Radeon Pro 580 8 GB

try deleting everything in the Documents/paradox/ck3 folder except any valued save games. Any better on the second time starting after that (to give a chance to write the caches again)?

IF you have this problem on GFN only, please lodge a support ticket at paradox.zendesk.com and we'll help you there.

I merged your two threads.

Please try this:

- exit the Steam app entirely
- uninstall Paradox Launcher v2 from the Windows "Apps and features" utility, if still present.

Delete the following folders if still present:

- C:/users//AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users//AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users//AppData/Roaming/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/
To see the AppData folder you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer.

- run steam.exe as the Windows Admin user

- run the game from the PLAY button in Steam

IF that doesn't help, in this folder are some .log files:
C:/users//AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/
Please attach them here.

Note that you can run ck3.exe directly from Windows Explorer, which bypasses the launcher.

Hajamieli said: Ouch, Windows reset/reinstall sounds like a big hassle - I have quite many apps and files I would not like to lose. I guess there is no way to do a Windows reinstall/reset without having to reinstall every app and losing files?
Same error in that log I fear.

Yes a Windows reset or reinstall is a big deal, I am sorry about that! The fact you have it with other games means it's external to our game.

Make sure you have tested backups of you rphotos and other irreplaceable documents, and that you know where you can reinstall all your valued apps ... Read more

KXNGSOL said: I'm having the same issue, reset and updates all my drivers, reinstalled ect, tried uninstalling the game and the launcher neither of which worked. I don't own a copy of the game but I am trying to play while it's free on steam. Weird issue but I've encountered similar issues when downloading games through steam, EVE is one that i had to go and download from the website instead of steam in order for it to work originally.
You do not have the same issue. See the difference between your error.log and the OP's one? As always, please make your own fresh thread, rather t... Read more

Not explicitly, no, they are not part of the testing suite AFAIK.

Does this not happen in say CK2?
