When I was concepting this guy and his minions, the idea was that he went through an aether-fueled hyper evolution, but originally started out in a similar form to the minions. He evolved to no longer need the wings, so they stopped growing. They're leftover vestigial appendages from his previous form :)

WOW - wrecking crew

Yeah, it's a bug with 'raw aether' pistols that made it in last patch. We were splitting up the soundbanks to be elementally specific, to massively reduce memory usage on pistols... but unfortunately the 'default' element (raw aether) doesn't set the variable correctly and therefore doesn't load the bank. We fixed it immediately on discovering it, but unfortunately it was too late for the patch that went out. It MAY be fixed if you switch pistol elements in the lobby, but I haven't confirmed that.

Throughout the day there was significant issues with our Data Center in South America's Internet connection. When the issues came up we routed players to the next best region but of course for some folks that increased latency a lot. We're very sorry for the problems. Should be all fixed as of about an hour ago or so.
