Anti cheat is a huge resource hog, costly, and unlikely to work. Since DRG is a PVE game, it’s not been a huge issue so far. Host yourself, and should you happen upon a cheaters game as a client, you can restore your save in the options menu to get rid of ill gotten goods.

Unlikely. The plan is to do new seasonal items, but this might change.

I got that hat with the supporter pack. You mean the pointy hat thingy right? You get every hat they made when you buy the supporter pack. I got a message one day after buying the support pack saying im receiving all the passed hats and a thank you message

Unfortunately, that’s not true. The supporter pack gives you the skeleton divers helmet. You must have bought it right before release where you could claim all event hats as a thank you for being with us in Early Access.

No one here can get your account back, but maybe if you emailed the devs they could.

We can’t. Saves are local, and in all cases (99.9%) the issue is not with the game, but with Windows or something similar.

Thanks for the in depth answer - really helpful. I think I'll give it a go. We'll be playing split screen so I'll be there to walk her through some of the more complex bits that crop up.

No split screen option, unfortunately - no plans for it either.

I’ve heard of younger kids playing it. There’s some swearing you might want to be aware of. If you really want to, you could probably replace those files manually with some legwork.

Oh. I see. Didn’t catch that. Only just started. Rock and Stone!

It’s a small detail. Crassus is a bit tougher and will already be spawned on the level when you start. It cannot spawn randomly during a mission.

Doors don't open unless the M.U.L.E is secured, for example I've had it to where it was only 10 seconds left and the M.U.L.E got picked up and we barely escaped. Plus you have no other option other than following the mule's path if you don't have a driller or he's down

The doors do open 10 seconds before the pod leaves. Finding your way up is harder, but not impossible.

To elaborate I see most things here, and other devs + our guy at coffee stain post links on our Slack frequently. Bug flairs are mostly used by QA, so that’s useful too - they also look at the Steam Forums, which I do to a lesser degree. Primarily because this subreddit has more varied content relevant to what I do at GSG.

Upvotes are relevant for visibility, but the amount isn’t vital. 1000 votes obviously makes something more visible that 10 do, but as soon something has enough upvotes to leave “new”, chances are much higher. I’ve also set up an IFTT to notify me of posts, so I often wake up to a bunch of notifications of new stuff on this subreddit.

There is some unavoidable personal bias as to what might be passed on. Great art, good videos, critical bugs, praise etc. is very frequently passed on. Suggestions for a Medic class, “we need more weapons”, and so on are not.

The Crassus Bulk Detonator is actually a rare spawn. A regular Bulk Detonator does not explore into gold.

Okay yeah I did some snooping at my last stream that got booted, the only things I can see that may have done it were..

  • The Blonde drink.
  • The ambient music in the rig/station.

Now here's the weird part. When I tried to reboot the stream about five minutes after, they took it down again for inappropriate content (copyright stuff) - no strikes thank god. That time I was literally just in the chat with the ambient music from the ship in the background, nothing more.

You don’t get a notice of the copyright claim and the material in question? I know that’s standard for video you upload, so it seems weird that streams are left without that info.

Yeah no problem Jacob, I never expect people to ever drop things on a whim for anyone.

I was trying to haggle with the YouTube team and they just kept pushing that idea of whitelisting people.

It's kind of annoying because it's like they're trying to divert their work load on other people. It ain't no-ones fault but YouTubes dang it.

Just checked it - it doesn't really work with whitelisting, as it is the one claiming the copyright that needs to whitelist, and it is not us. We're trying to weed out the songs that have their rights spread out all over the place, so if you can pinpoint what number triggered it, that would be awesome.

I think the best thing I read however is that Ghost Ship is not only trying to solve this, but they're able to just white-list your channel so you never have to deal with this problem again.

Unless I get on that list, I basically have to mute the music during my stay on the ship in stream heh. f**king hell, YouTube needs to get their shit together.

I’ll look at the whitelist once I get this baby off me. It’s obviously not something we can do for everyone, but it’s a start.

I mean, there's probably always some tiny voice in the back of your mind whispering "but what if you fail", which I think was silenced relatively early, when the game picked up at Early Access release. It's been doing continuously well, and I know our CEO Soren spends a lot of time looking at how the game is performing, making sure we're on the right track. which has been a forgiving task so far

As Community Manager, I always worry about toxicity in the community. With a growing community you are bound to run into some bad apples, and we have had our share of them, but overall the community is a very friendly and welcoming bunch of beardos. Can't say much about design challenges, but we do a lot of talking at the office, and even though some things make it into the game that not everyone agrees upon, the team is always great at looking at the feedback and making the necessary adjustments. And when that happens, we're also good at admitting that it was a mistake ...

Everybody is on holiday, so you have to settle with me. What do you mean? Like design-wise, development-wise or what?

It's a minor annoyance, but we are thinking about a damage-over-time penalty for scouts that don't use their flare gun. Once they drop to 0 health, they explode like a Bulk Detonator, but instead of mayhem and destruction they release flares in every direction.
We are also working to fix some bugs that crash the game.

I am not a dev, this is just a joke.

What you did there, I did not see... because the scout didn't light up your comment.
