Hey all, we understand with the timing being what it was, why some are speculating that the Crown Store issue and datacenter power failure are connected. They are not, despite the unfortunate timing. When we have a Crown Store issue, at most we lock the Crown Store and push a hotfix. Crown Store fixes, especially those related to pricing, do not usually require downtime. We also want to clarify that anyone who bought the mount at the incorrect cheaper price will get to keep it. We aren't taking it away or actioning anyone. This was a mistake on our end, and all we're doing is fixing the pricing to what we intended. You should see that pricing reflected when we're past this datacenter power failure and servers are back online.

While we continue to investigate, we want to let you know this outage is going to take a significant amount of time to recover from. At this time, we are estimating it could be at least 12 hours until we're up and running, however there's a chance it could take longer. The extent of this outage is unprecedented for ESO, and we will need to take time to ensure all realms come back online safely and efficiently. We’ll continue to provide updates in this thread as we have information to share and appreciate your patience.

Thanks all. We are looking into the server outage and should have an update soon.

Hi all, we are seeing some issues on our end, so we are investigating. If you can note what platform and megaserver you play on, that would be great.

Thanks all, we're on it and will give you an update as soon as we can.

Hi everyone, Please note we have just locked the in-game Crown Store on all realms while we investigate an issue, and we'll let you know when the store will be back online. Thank you!

I apologize if it was in the article and I missed it somehow, but I think we're missing an explanation of the new costume and it's fragments? I gather that we need to gather "Bolts of Winter Storm Cloth" to create a "New Life Winter Storm Robes costume," but I missed the explicit confirmation of such (or how many bolts we need to collect).
No worries, happy to clarify. You will need 15 Bolts of Winter Storm Cloth. These will drop as potential items in the New Life Festival Boxes.

Yeah, it is now automatic. We noted this in the article we just published for New Life Festival. Here is the line in the article:
"During the New Life Festival, you will automatically enjoy a 100% boost to XP gain whenever you log in to the game, with no extra steps required"

Wondering if this thread is gonna get forgotten or if were gonna get some official response on the very real problems with BGs/PVP that frankly are indicative of issues in the dev cycle. A failure analysis might be prudent given this "new" feature apparently took 2 years to develop, barely works, seems unready and which has had a terrible reception. @ZOS_JessicaFolsom You said, "We're putting together our thoughts on some steps we'd like to take to improve overall communication, especially the cadence consistency. And much of that is taking into consideration the recommendations here. We'd like to share that soon (it its own thread) to get everyone's input" a week ago, Any idea on when this will be?
This is still being worked on and it also needs to be translated so that other language speakers outside of English get this as well. We are hoping to have this up before the New Year. But it is in progress. I read a draft for it this mor... Read more

Community Feedback and Communication Lastly, I’d like Matt to address how the team handles community feedback. Lately, there’s been a sense that changes are introduced that “no one asked for,” and with each major update, more long-time players seem to be leaving. I wonder if ZOS is aware of this perception internally and if they have plans—such as more community surveys or deeper engagement—to implement changes the community is actually asking for.
Just wanted to chime in on this real quickly. We have been chatting about this internally and setting up some plans like more surveys and ways to better implement more player feedback into direct action. Matt will touch on this to some degree in his letter, but wanted to mention it here as well. We have already started with some of this stuff, like the guild survey we had a few months ago. But we do plan to ramp up more of the requested communication methods in 2025. And w... Read more

Why not just turn it off? At least until your testing can be done?
This is fair question and was also the first one we asked when this was first reported. It takes time to push fixes across to completion, between the multiple teams involved, certifications, etc. This isn't something that we are able to hotfix and requires an update. Doing a temp update to effectively undo a fix that is already coming and pivot to another approach would make the actual fix take even longer.

Earlier this year we had the great pleasure of meeting so many of you in Amsterdam when we celebrated the 10-year anniversary of The Elder Scrolls Online. At the time, we had also planned a North American gathering for 2025. While we will continue to celebrate a decade of ESO with in-game content, activities, rewards and more, we will no longer be hosting an additional large-scale in-person event in North America. This was a difficult decision to make – we love hanging with the ESO family! – and we plan to continue holding smaller gatherings in various global locations, including meetups at industry events. Meanwhile, our focus, as always, continues to be on the game itself – on delivering fun, engaging, welcoming and challenging content for longtime and new players alike. From all of us at ZeniMax Online Studios, thank you for being such a dedicated part of the ESO community.

Hey all, we're aware that some players are having issues logging into Xbox EU and are working on it. This will require a server reboot, which we are queueing up now.
