Hey @Xaviar_Onassis and @Vincent_Athena, here’s the best walk through I can offer. Will clarify if anything isn’t immediately grokkable, though. Just ask:

  1. You can see what the mappings would be right now by choosing “winehq-master” as the dev branch and “Latest” as the wine version in the Preferences menu of the EVE Launcher (accessed through the menu bar, not the Launcher settings cog).

  2. We can’t 100% claim that winehq-master will always have the same keybindings (we don’t maintain winehq-master) it has at present, but the current set up is as follows (mos...

Thanks everyone for the replies and comments.

We’re about to have the implementation of this in a testable state, so I may soon be (potentially able to begin planning to think about the consideration of a slight possibility of maybe) providing some answers on resulting functionality and what exactly happens when we remove ccp-master from the equation.

Until then, please continue to comment and of course keep flying.

Thanks, Rixx.

I suspect a lot of Mac “powerusers” are in a similar boat.

We’ll do what we can to keep you guys cruising along.

You wouldn’t expressly lose the Magic Mouse, but you likely would want to activate Secondary Click in the settings so that the right side functioned like a right mouse button (As it turns out, many Mac user have already enabled this functionality).

No one can take control over your computer. Let’s say a spy posts a link to the industry window:

  • you see the link in chat
  • it has special color, so you should know it’s a pointer link
  • nothing more happens if you don’t click on the link
  • if you do click on the link, the pointer points to the industry button in the neocom, it does not open the window.
  • if you, an experienced indy player, then decide since some rando was pointing you to the industry window, that you should probably open it in middle of 1% tidi fight… well, then you might die I guess ...

Some other pointers:

  • Target list anchor
  • Probe scanner window elements, notably: Recover Active Probes, Filtered Results, Probe Size modifier.

Some kind of direct pointer for “Tutorial videos” and “Corporation Search” would be nice, but that probably will require creating their own Neocom entries. These two are well hidden in UI and underappreciated.

You can always click on the links yourself, and pretend you are a different character that just got sent that link

Hey Zluq,

I’ll chime in here as the current stakeholder of the CCL division of ISD. So, our current focus is on working out a sustainable and simple process to get these fits from forum to client, and ensure they get audited and revised in a regular manner. The first draft of this process was presented to Stall, Fractal, and some devs yesterday for wave 1 of feedback. Now that’s underway we should be in a position to get this project back up and running.

Apologies for the lack of communication surrounding this up til now, but we are now back on track and I’ll be talking to CCL about kicking off a new wave of threads, and getting some of the already harvested fits into the client once we iron out the finer points of the process.

Hi!

  • Press and hold the Windows key on your keyboard while pressing R (this will open a run window).
  • Copy and paste the following line into the run window: %LOCALAPPDATA%\CCP\EVE\
  • You should see a few folders there. One will be named after where your sharedCache folder is located on your hard drive such as (c_programdata_eve_sharedcache_tq_tranquility)
  • Copy the folder to another location on your hard drive.
  • If you lose your settings again copy the folder back and your settings should be restored to what they were when the folder was copied. If you make any changes to your settings, you should create a new backup.

And that is why I ask, to me a ‘safe’ hauling ship would be a Blockade Runner/Deep Space Transport or Jump Freighter. Though all of these options are far out of reach for an alpha player.

On a side note; we do these ships in batches that are pre-approved. But if you ever think of a type of ship or scenario that fits will be useful for newer players feel free to mention it here.

A question for you @Dom_Trufp, what do you consider to be a safe hauling fit?
