That means you likely have Windows 7 installed but haven’t installed sp1, SP1 is required to run EVE Online and you will need to install the following update too which also requires Windows 7 sp1.

Hi!

A new mirror is being deployed to Singularity within the next hour. I’ll update here with details, as soon as it is back, but there are no major changes planned.

Update: Singularity is back online on the new mirror (from 2019-05-30). All rules are staying the same. Market seeding received minor updates, but is very similar to before.

Skill points for the last 5+1 mass tests have been re-applied.

We’ve received a few reports of pilots from Japan, Australia and New Zealand being unable to connect.

Tranquility is running fine, with all its associated services running fine too. It seems that the connectivity issues stem from a provider in the region having issues.

Apologies, but there’s nothing we can do to assist with this as the issue is outside our infrastructure.

Closing this thread, given that the OP is ranting, which is against the rules.

You really haven’t been paying attention then.

Seems it really wants to stay in beta mode. Sorry about that.

The work around to that is to force it back to release mode.

First uninstall to make sure you don’t have the beta launcher.

Then with regedit navigate to Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\CCP\EVE and change the key “LauncherType” to 0

Then install the latest launcher from the site and you should be in release mode.

Heya,

The beta launcher might have exaggerated the existing “Oops I forgot all the accounts because there are three thousand launchers running in the background” issue that most people fix by either nuking the processes or changing the release tier. I’m not really sure what the connection is between them yet.

However, 1516567 should alleviate an issue I think may be related to this. Seems we had some rogue threads that refused to biomass themselves.

They have been given cyanide capsules with ten second dispersal timers. So hopefully the extra running launcher will, in a worst case scenario, die off within ten seconds.

I’ve only gathered this info from a few bug reports and forum threads. If you have any other patterns that might make sense, please add a comment here.

Will keep an eye on this and see if it is sane enough to promote to release next week.

Thanks!

No release date yet, it’s being actively worked on.

I believe the current plan is to run the old and new side-by-side for at least a while after release so we will wave the flags about it some more once it’s up and running to give people time to play around and migrate.

As part of the celebrations around the launch of EVE Online: Invasion, we’re delighted to announce that the opt-in open beta for the 64-bit EVE Online client is now live!
