Will players who have lost perk points forever from changing builds previously get those points back from this new system?

Also how do legendary perk cards work with this system? Do we get refunded those points as well to pick different legendary cards for different builds?

Like others mentioned, Legendary Perks are separate from S.P.E.C.I.A.L. Loadouts, so we haven't made any changes there.

To help offset Perk Coins lost by moving points prior to the arrival of Legendary Perks, we added a Lifetime Challenge several patches ago that awarded a stack of Perk Coins. While that may not equal the total amount that you or some others may have missed out on due to moving points with your level-ups, there are still lots of opportunities for more Perk Coins. For example, this Season has another rank-up reward that grants Perk Coins, and you'll still gain Perk Coins by scrapping Cards from Perk Packs you earn as rank-up rewards and when you level up.

Weapon displays still not fixed then?? I wonder if they have the audacity to have more undisplayable weapons on the store tonight too?

We're working on a list of weapons that will not display items. Unfortunately, we couldn't get the fixes in, in time for this patch.

Stairs with posts can be stacked officially now! That'll be great for multi-story builds.

Glad you're excited for this one! I'm really glad we could not only bring this back to the community, but in a more intuitive and intended way.

We made some significant improvements behind the scenes to reduce the game's overall size with this update, which makes for a very large download today, but moving forward patch sizes will return to being much smaller.

It's simple. It's the game as a whole again. The delete the old file so they can install a new and better packed file. Almost every publisher does this when they change big things in the background. It's much easier for them. Future patches would be smaller then because the already put out a newer version. Things like pre planned events are also on there, so they just have to launch it or set it on a timer.

At last some hard to fix bugs can be fixed by that too. Since they can overwrite it with a new file now.

Beth has an old style of less patches but bigger updates for content and/or cleaning up and fixing bugs.

Nailed it! Today's download size is much larger than normal as a result of this work, but it's a good thing for the game moving forward. You're correct as well that patch sizes will return to being smaller after today's update.

Note that the Harpoon Gun, Gatling Plasma, Cryolator, Flamer, Gauss Minigun, .44 Pistol, Assaultron Head, The Fixer, Pump Action Shotgun, Assault Rifle, Gauss Rifle, Tesla Rifle, Super Sledge, Shishkebab, Power Fist, Plasma Cutter, Pickaxe, Pipe Wrench, War Glaive, Security Baton, Boxing Glove, Knuckles (and any skins for those weapons) are still broke for displays and there hasn't been any word of them being fixed any time soon.

Weapons not displaying properly is something we're actively working on, and we've had discussions about this as recently as yesterday afternoon. Fixes are coming!

Thanks for the fast response! I mixed up Perk Points and Perk Coins, my bad.

Are Perk Coins still used for removing an equipped legendary Perk and levelling up legendary Perks?

Ah, thanks for clarifying. Perk Coins still work the same way they did before this patch.

Yay! Fixes for stacking stairs with posts, and for teams entering VTU!!!

One question, with the SPECIAL Loadouts what happens to Perk Points now?

Edit: corrected a typo error.

You'll still have the same amount of attribute points to distribute into your S.P.E.C.I.A.L. any way you want to, and Perk Cards still consume the same amount of available points when you assign them.

However, since you can now reset your entire S.P.E.C.I.A.L. with Punch Card Machines, we've done away with the "Move A Point" screen where you could previously spend a level-up to switch a perk point from one S.P.E.C.I.A.L. category to another.

Hope I understood your question!
