Thank you for this note--I could have been much clearer about the goal of the information and I've updated my post to be more specific. I reviewed the full thread as I was gathering feedback, and since there were several points of feedback in addition to the original post, I shared them all with the relevant teams. They asked me to share a recent update that happened to be relevant to one of those additional points, but I have made sure people are aware of the full discussion here.

We've temporarily disabled the new Victory Point values in WvW while we continue investigating calculation issues. We will re-enable them once the issue has been addressed. Thank you for your patience.

I've seen this question here and there so you're definitely not alone in wondering–I can help clarify! There won't be an additional currency or essence type. Kryptis Essences (Essences of Despair, Greed, and Triumph) that are in the game now will be renamed "Rift Essences". They can be used for the legendary Obsidian armor in SotO as well as the legendary spear and legendary backpack coming in Janthir Wilds. Like legendary Obsidian armor, there will be additional materials required to craft the legendary spear and backpack, but the Kryptis essence you're earning now will carry over to Janthir Wilds as rift essence.

Hey there! I just wanted to jump in on this thread and let folks know that I do actively read this sub-forum to gather feedback and read the discussions going on about WvW. I understand that not seeing direct comments from me can raise the question of how often I'm coming here, but I am actively reading through most threads and comments, and often times find it easier to read through everything and compile feedback from folks without commenting directly. As I've done previously - and plan to continue to do - if I feel as though I want clarification on something or want to expand a specific discussion point I will comment on it. Bug Fixes: Fixed an issue that blocked access to mursaat token 25 in Ember Bay. Fixed an issue that prevented this week’s updates to the AFK timer from functioning correctly.

Bug Fixes: Fixed an issue that prevented new players from entering the World vs. World game mode. Fixed an issue that prevented walls in WvW from being repaired when interacting with them. Fixed an issue that prevented "Repel the enemy attackers" events from starting in WvW. Fixed an issue that caused some items offered by the Skirmish Supervisor in WvW to be priced incorrectly.

We have adjusted the guild selection deadline for future releases in order to direct more resources to unexpected issues if needed. The deadline will change from 11:45 p.m. Pacific Time (UTC-7) on Thursday to 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time (UTC-7) on Wednesday, beginning on July 24. This change is reflected on the UI timer in the game now, so you must select your WvW guild for the next team creation by 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time (UTC-7) on Wednesday, July 24.
