Hey all, we’ve received your reports about a bug that prevented the fourth Boomsday Project Lethal Puzzle (“A Shaman’s Strength”) from loading correctly–and then causing further issues trying to re-connect after you close the client.

We identified the problem and have a fix going live in our next scheduled patch, Patch 21.4. In the meantime, we suggest that you avoid that particular lethal puzzle so that your client doesn’t get locked up.

Thanks for your help.

Hey there, the “this” I was referring to in this reply was the other complaint that was raised in response to this thread (chat settings not being saved). What you’re talking about (the main issue that this thread was created about) is still scheduled to be fixed in the next patch, like stated above. You can do the workaround listed in the original post in the meantime.

Hey there, this was fixed in Tuesday’s 21.3 patch (except for in the CN region, where the fix is going live in the next big patch). Once you update to 21.3, your settings should be saved.

Hey all,

We’re aware of an issue where people playing on iOS devices are being prompted to allow push notifications every time they open the app. This is not intended, and is being caused by push notifications being enabled within the Hearthstone client, but disabled on your device. We’re working on a fix that we plan to implement in our next big patch.

In the meantime, we have a workaround to share with you all:

  1. Open Hearthstone on your iOS device
  2. Press the settings cog in the top right
  3. Press “Options”
  4. In the bottom portion of that menu, under “Other,” press “Privacy”
  5. Press “Privacy Settings”
  6. Uncheck the box that reads “Enable push notifications”

Then click “Done” and you should be set.

Hey all, we’ve identified an issue with Tarecgosa which is causing crashes in Battlegrounds. We’re temporarily disabling the minion while we investigate a solution to the problem. We’ll update here when we have more information.

9/23 Update: We completed our investigation and addressed the issues causing the crashes. Tarecgosa has been added back into the minion pool. We don’t anticipate any further related issues, but will update here if we do.

(Edited) We are deploying a server-side hotfix tonight to fix a rare bug that was blocking interactions with the middle of the screen. This hotfix will also resolve issues with the ‘Gift of Elune’ Mystery.

Tomorrow, we plan to deploy another hotfix to:

  • Add Deathwing back into the Battlegrounds Hero pool.
  • Add Leapfrogger back into the Battlegrounds minion pool.
  • Fix a visual bug that caused enemies to show the wrong tavern tier in Battlegrounds.
  • Fix a bug that treated Razorgore, the Untamed’s effect as a separate buff for each Dragon you controlled, instead of one combined buff at the end of each turn.

We will continue to monitor the issues to determine if any further steps are needed, and will update this post with any additional info.

9/1 UPDATE: Due to an unforeseen issue, Deathwing will not be reenabled tomorrow. Deathwing will return to Battlegrounds in our next patch.

9/2 UPDATE: The issue wi...

Hey all,

We’re currently investigating crashes in Battlegrounds, which we suspect may be caused by Leapfrogger. We’ve disabled the minion for now while we continue to investigate and arrive at a solution. We’ll update here once we know more.

UPDATE 9/1: Deathwing has been temporarily removed from the Battlegrounds hero pool due to it causing crashes with the new Master Nguyen hero. We plan to return Deathwing to the hero pool once the issue has been patched. We will continue to update this post as we get more information.

The decks awarded to new and returning players will be updated when United in Stormwind launches. Players who have been away for 120 or more days will be granted a deck upon login. New players will receive the deck once they are eligible.

In order to claim their deck, new players will need to:

  • complete the tutorial and the Starter Quest quest chain;
  • graduate from the New Player Ranks (Ranks 40-1); and,
  • return to the main menu.

It is possible that you may not see the deck in your deck list if you did not have an open deck slot when you chose your free Class Deck. You will still receive all the expansion cards from that deck (Core Set cards must be earned by levelling your account, but they are unlocked very quickly). If you would like to delete one of your existing decks, you can then navigate back to this page and use our deck list. From here, copy the deck code and build a new deck, using that code.

Hey everyone,
We’re aware of the following issues with the 21.0 Patch, which went live today:

  • Some Duels players were not transferred to the next Duels season.
  • Pave the Way, the second portion of the Paladin Questline, does not upgrade Duels-only Paladin Hero Powers.

Both issues are being monitored and will be addressed in a later patch. In the meantime, any Duels players who were not transferred to the next Duels season can reach out to Customer Service in order to be manually transferred over.

7/29 UPDATE: We are also aware that players are currently unable to claim rewards for the Climbing the Ranks achievement. Once United in Stormwind launches on August 3, you’ll be able to claim the new United in Stormwind rewards for that achievement.

7/29 UPDATE #2: We are aware of an issue where Android users are unable to login. We are actively working to resolve the issue and will update here once a soluti...

After this week’s 18.0 patch, players who began the August ranked season may have received rewards that included Scholomance Academy packs. As of this date of posting, the 18.0 patch has gone live but the Scholomance Academy content is not yet live. This was unintended, as we should have only begun offering these packs as rewards beginning in September. As a related note, because this is unintended behavior, players will likely be shown that they are receiving Ashes of Outland packs, when they will in fact receive Scholomance Academy packs.

For the entirely of August, we will continue offering Scholomance Academy packs instead of Ashes of Outland packs as August ranked rewards. We are currently in the process of making an update which will correctly display for players that their rewards are from Scholomance Academy, not Ashes of Outland. Please note, however, that until this fix is deployed, players will continue to see Ashes of Outland packs shown in the UI. We will begin w...

We are temporarily disabling Lady Vashj in Battlegrounds due to an issue introduced after today’s patch, which can prevent some minions from being purchased in Bob’s Tavern. We plan to keep the hero disabled until early next week when we can put out a full fix for the issue.

Thank you to everyone who reported issues with completing the Legendary Quest for the new adventure. For players who completed the adventure shortly after it was released, it’s possible that you didn’t yet have the Legendary Quest and won’t be able to complete it with repeated playthroughs. We’re working on a fix that will check for adventure completion and whether you’ve gotten your rewards and grant quest completion to anyone who didn’t receive it. You will not need to complete the adventure again as long as you have completed it once. We’re likely going to get this fix out early next week.

As our new Returning Player Experience went live along with the 17.0 update, we’ve found a few places where we think we can clarify the process and what you can expect.

To expand upon the eligible time period, we’ve defined a returning player as one who had not logged into Hearthstone for four months as of March 17th, so your last login to Hearthstone needed to be before 11/18/2019 to qualify. If you logged in on or between 11/18/2019 to 3/17/2020, you would not qualify as a returning player and receive the Class Deck.

If you’re a returning player who has not logged in since before 11/18/2019, to earn your free deck

  • Log into Hearthstone and be presented with a new Legendary Quest line, which is made up of three total quests. In the first quest, you will face three bosses made specifically for the quest line. In the final two quests, you will play 30 cards then deal 100 damage to an enemy hero.
  • Upon completing the third and final quest, you will be...

Hey everyone! I spent some time today going through community feedback and interntal statistics for the Standard metagame. Wanted to share some thoughts on where we are now and where we might be headed in the near future.

Still seeing healthy fluctuation in terms of deck power levels every day. Here are some metrics for the best decks over the last four days. Data represents top 1% of players, which is approximately Rank 3 to Legend.

  • Aggro Warrior – 54.5%

  • Galakrond Warrior – 54.0%

  • Highlander Hunter – 53.7%

  • Mech Paladin – 52.9%

Feb 9

  • Quest Hunter – 54.2%

  • Galakrond Warrior – 54.0%

  • Highlander Hunter – 53.9%

  • Rezz Priest – 53.6%

I think under the normal circumstances in Hearthstone history, maybe not.

The influx of card changes this expansion has a little to do with those cards being quite powerful, but it’s mostly that we wanted to try a different approach to the cadence we make card changes.

The changes I feel were absolutely necessary this expansion were the ones to Galakrond Shaman. It was really the only archetype that was at a power level unacceptable under any past circumstance. Even after the first round of changes, there turned out to be an undiscovered deck that played a little slower and was even more powerful than the version being used during the first couple weeks. During playtesting, we honestly just thought that Galakrond Shaman was an incredibly fun deck to play and wanted to push it to a level where it would be considered one of the more powerful decks. We pushed too far, it happens.

As far as the rest of the changes, I think in the past we would have waited a little l...

Face Hunter and Priest have both been very popular and rather successful from about rank 10 and down. Rank 10 to Legend don’t see very much success from either deck.

The reason we chose not to make changes to Priest or Hunter in this patch was not because players at those ranks don’t matter, it’s because we generally see a trickle down effect on the meta that starts in Legend and moves down to rank 17-18. We’d expect the population of both those decks to decrease as players experiment with new decks.

Face Hunter is generally popular at lower ranks because it’s a fairly low cost deck. RIght now it’s weak to a lot of the Shaman, Rogue, and Warlock strategies out there and I imagine that will still be true after the nerfs to those decks. If Face Hunter still continues to be super high population after after 16.2 has been out for a bit it’s likely we would address that deck in some way that makes for a more varied experience.

Edit: I flubbed the matchup data, I was...

Hey everyone,

Just to give a heads up - we’re working on a balance update that will arrive within the next week with card adjustments for Descent of Dragons, including some changes aimed at Shaman. Any cards that are affected will be given full arcane dust refunds. Stay tuned for more details next week.

Quick updates on where a few of the outstanding issues are:

Sathrovarr : As a confirmation, Sathrovarr was absolutely not intended to become unplayable with the patch on Thursday. We know what caused this, and it’s going to require us to put a fix in to the launch of Descent of Dragons next Tuesday. As of right now, we expect Sathrovarr to be back to normal on Tuesday.

Disenchanting Cards: Right now, some cards are showing a system error screen after trying to disenchant them. This is something we can fix on our side, and we’re working to get that out today before the weekend.

[Hearthstone Battlegrounds] Rafaam’s Hero Power: Last night, we resolved an issue where Rafaam’s Hero Power wasn’t properly allowing a golden upgrade until after buying something. This should be working normally as of right now.

Missing Cards / Deck Codes: We’ve seen a lot of varying reports of things with cards ...
