If you have still not received your rewards, can you please send in a screenshot of your Profile Statistics page for ‘2018, Season 4’ as well as a screenshot of the areas in the collection where the War Turtle mount and 2018 Season 4 Ranked Portrait are missing. Hello Heroes!

Over the past couple of months, we have been hard at work preparing our combined league structure and are excited to bring Storm League’s Preseason to the Nexus in the next major patch! We will go into more detail about that in the near future, but in the meantime, in our most recent Reddit AMA, we got some questions about the 2019 Gameplay Updates and wanted to share some insight into our thinking behind them. Hi, Heroes!

I know we’ve been more quiet than usual the past few weeks, but it’s not because we’ve lost focus on the game. In fact, we’ve been working very hard behind the scenes to regroup as a team and align on our goals for 2019 and beyond. As I mentioned before, this process involved revisiting not only our existing plans, but also rethinking some of our approaches to core areas of the game and its development with our focus solely on creating the best experience possible for our players. It’s been a bunch of work and there’s still much more work ahead, but we’re finally ready to get back to talking about our plans and sharing some insight as to what our players can expect next.

Greetings, Heroes!

I wanted to check in and give everyone an update following our latest announcements.

First, the next few months will unfold much like we’d originally planned. In fact, our 85th hero will be announced soon before hitting the PTR the first week of January, and that hero will be followed by a string of cool events and hero reworks en route to our next hero release.

What we want to do beyond those releases is currently under discussion across the Heroes of the Storm team. The plans moving forward are going to be focused on the things that the Heroes team and all of you in our community are excited for. Our team has always thrived when we’re working on things we’re passionate about. While our team is smaller, we’re a fully functional group of developers who can create the features and content we all want, in time. Yesterday, we announced a difficult decision—the HGC will not be returning in 2019 and we’ll be transitioning some Heroes of the Storm developers to our other game teams. While our extended Blizzard family working on World of Warcraft, Hearthstone, Overwatch, and our unannounced projects will be getting an influx of much-needed, extremely talented Heroes devs to help them achieve their goals, it also means that we’ll need to change the cadence of support for Heroes going forward.

So, I’m sad. I’m sad because I love this team and this game that we’ve built together, with all of you, and this past year has been such a great one for Heroes of the Storm. The HGC had its best year yet and I was so looking forward to the 2019 season. On the game side, we’ve had a steady stream of some of the most sought-after heroes, amazing themed events, and impactful reworks. I got ROCKED by Alarak and Stukov last night. Silences are always brutal, but I’d say they are particularly punishing for the long cast times on Q and W.

Also, considering her trait/sustainability is so heavily dependent on landing autos – blinds, are also brutal! Cassia, Artanis, Lili can make Orphea’s life rough.

Every hero release leaves someone wondering where their hero is, but we strive very hard as developers, to make sure that all the content is compelling whether you’re an SCII players learning about a WoW hero for the first time, or a Heroes player learning about Orphea for the first time.

Every Blizzard character was an OC at some point or another! The capacity to create entirely original content ultimately enables us to broaden horizon of the type of cool kits and content we’re able to create for you.

Technically, no, considering the ‘monster’ is a really a manifestation of Orphea’s deepest, subconscious feelings – but throughout development, everyone thought of that lil’ buddy as ‘chomp’.
