We have found a fix for this (hopefully). I will let you know its deployed. You will know the fix is in your build, when you see "87948" or above in the version number.

Description of fix from programmer:

stops the animals from spawning inside or around the radar on the scan missions. Will attempt to find a location away from players and have them move to the location

You should be getting really good FPS, for sure. I am running only 16GB ram (DD5, though) and I get far better frames.

Try setting "Texture Pool Size" to max? Also try running in DX11 - please do let me know how you get on.

open CMD as administrator and type: netsh winsock reset , netsh int ip reset, and ipconfig /flushdns after that restart your PC

However, we found a permanent solution! Just needed to make sure that everyone had the same steam download region.

I switched my download region to that of my friends and now I can join just fine.

We have discussed changing how some of the reward stuff works anyway. But GTA online has a good framework approach anyway. I’ve done many heists with Randoms so it offers as good a blueprint as any to start.

Contact steam support directly. Others have been able to get the full refund very quickly. Unfortunately the automated system does not work because of how the “upgrade” system works. At least one user confirmed they got their full refund by raising it with valve.

Currently, no. It’s something we are investigating but we want to get a good system going for matchmaking so the experience isn’t ruined. We are getting great data to help with that

Have found this a few times!

  1. Use the “remove character from prospect” button in the character screen.

  2. Try rejoin the prospect, such as right clicking on your friend who is hosting on steam and clicking “join game”

So far those experiencing the 008 issue you described this has solved it, and they kept all their equipment and progress!

Try return back to character screen and then rejoin the drop. This happened to me, it’s when all the initialisation data hasn’t happened. Post back if that works for you!

Agreed. There is a ticket in for BW4 to this effect. We will place a gravestone marker at your equipment, and for solo players, the equipment will only despawn when destroyed by weather or on reload. Subject to change, but that's the current plan. We'll test and adjust and see how that feels.\

Additionally we might give solo players a "death run" modifier, that allows them to run faster, and have less visibilty.

The refund policy we have is precisely for this situation.

The beta is going to be very frustrating for those looking for a polished experience, as it's purpose is for us to play with the concept while it is still maleable. For many, this will result in frustrations. These people can then refund the game, and might later reconsider a look with fresh eyes once the game has stabilized.

Thank you for checking the game out! I am glad you were able to get a refund, I much prefer an unsatisfied player to get their full money back if they play my games and don't like them.

We fixed some bugs with the animal spawning at the last minute, which resulted in us seeing the true operation - once our new "zoning" spawns came in.

Understand the frustration - but sadly this kind of lesson is what beta's like this is about. A key focus for BW4 is for us to take the new zone spawn mechanic, and add respawn exclusions on top of that, which will solve the issue of animals spawns.

gigantic waste of time and frustrating unenjoyable experience hope you have a lot of testing data from it...whatever bs you was testing by this.....

While I understand the frustration I would say the team is working very hard and I think the BW demonstrates huge progress from the previous one.

Do remember games are made by real people, try to direct the frustration at the experience - not the people developing it. We play the game and experience the frustrations as well. We take those, and commit to making the game feel better.
