This is the first time we've done it, and I don't think it's something that we'll do often, but we're always trying new things.
This is incorrect. You did it the season with Nightmare Shepard too. I watched in real time as a streamer bought the cosmetic for the card seconds before chat could warn him it was the rank reward that month available in just a few days time. Was quite the feel bad moment upon realizing.
Maybe put these in the store after the rewards are given instead of before so those who earn them aren't tricked into buying them. Or as one poster recommended, put an in game warning on it.
As it stands, its not a good look and definitely feels scummy, even if its just an oversight, but again it is not the first time you guys have done it.

Hi! I'm right here, as usual. Just because I'm not replying to the latest "X sucks" or "ban X card NOW" conversation doesn't mean I'm not here lol. Let's tone down the animosity please.
As for the Daily Deals including Yidaro and Valiant Rescuer, it's another way for players to acquire that content. The card style seasonal rewards are not exclusive to being seasonal rewards. If you earn it through climbing the ranked ladder, that's awesome! But if you don't play ranked, or maybe you're stuck in bronze, this gives players a secondary way to get the card style. This is the first time we've done it, and I don't think it's something that we'll do often, but we're always trying new things.

for when I play at work.
Naughty.

Umm I can play MTGA at work, it's considered research! How can I talk about the game, if I don't know the game.

Comment

I used emotes for quite a while, always said "hello" and "good game", etc... But it took one person spamming "your go" and "oops" for me to disable emotes haha. Saying something like "thinking" if you're taking a long time would be nice (but the timer kind of takes care of that-ish).

I need a "sorry, my coworker came by my desk" emote for when I play at work. The only times I've come close to roping someone, it was at work because a coworker came to my desk and asked about the board state or my deck (or occasionally asked something work related :joy: ).

Bug Fixes

  • Chromatic Sphere activation can no longer be reversed using the undo key once the card has been drawn.
    • Note: This is a mana ability, which means it can be activated as part of the process of casting a spell or activating another ability. If that happens you get the mana right away, but you don’t get to look at the drawn card until you have finished casting that spell or activating that ability (and the action can be undone up until this point). Once you have you have looked at the drawn card (i.e. it's turned face up) you should not be able to undo activating Chromatic Sphere.

Definitely passing this along to the team to get it removed asap! If you ever come across a bad username, please report it through our conduct reporting page so it gets addressed quickly.

Nexus of Fate

Nexus of Fate wandered into a new Banned and Restricted announcement and back in time. True to form, it it allowed you to receive an extra Wildcard grant (as opposed to an extra turn).

. . . We hope you appreciate the irony as much as we do.

Simply put, players who had previously received a Wildcard grant for Nexus of Fate when it was banned in best-of-one Standard found themselves receiving an additional grant this morning when the Historic ban was implemented. This is a bug, and should not be expected when a card ends up banned in multiple formats at separate times. Players will...

Currently there isn't a way to acquire the soundtrack outside of the game, I wish there was because I like it too! I'll pass along your feedback.

Glad you like the game!

I'm definitely guilty of deciding not to mulligan when I really should, but it's still a really important part of the game. This article is older, but great at explaining the why/when of mulligans.

Incoming Dominaria drafts, great. Not Traditional sadly, but human Premier is still better than drafting with bots. Great to get more chances to finish DAR collection.
Also, interesting tidbit from the JMP FAQ:
Will Jumsptart cards be craftable?
Yes—except for the basic lands. Those can only be earned through playing in the event at this time. All non-basic land cards can be crafted using Wildcards of the appropriate rarity.
Players will be able to craft Jumpstart cards for use in Constructed play after the event ends.

Note the last mention. Anyone who wants to play some certain JMP card in the Historic Arena open cannot craft it because the event is still actibe then - must get lucky with the themed deck pulls.

So I get that you can receive a wildcard.. But isn't that just the only exciting thing about opening packs? the chance that you get the card you need is so small, that there is 0 enjoyment in opening the packs? And wildcards are pretty boring.. just currency.
Well, not for me. I really enjoy turning over the rare, it's a fun moment. That said, I don't buy packs with gold, the packs I open come from the prerelease offer (the 50 packs bundle), the Mastery pass, and Limited event rewards.
I do agree that opening a wildcard feels disappointing. Which is really strange, as it is the best thing that you can open. But there it is, I'm waiting for some interesting rare or mythic, and this wildcard pops up. Go away, I already have a ton of your kind!
