Hey, this is great feedback. I really appreciate you taking the time to write this. I'll try to address these issues for the next update.

Regarding #3, I'm not sure I quite understand the function of this one. Can you elaborate a bit?

Thanks so much for the thoughtful post to help improve the game.

Sounds like some bug to me then. I'll have to take a look during playtests.

What's the population at? There is a cap of 99 you can edit from the top bar.

When you are designating rooms (with the room toolbar open), the game will automatically add those designated blocks to the current room selected in the room list. If no room has been designated, it will create one. If you want to create a new room for every block you designate, you can hold ctrl. So, even though you've separated the room designations with walls, it will still think those are one room because you haven't designated a new room. What you should be doing is designating a new room (again, hold ctrl, making a new selection of area to designate) for each separate room compartment. You can add designations to a previous designated room by selecting it from the room list (when the room menu is open). An alternative way to select a room to add to it is by holding ctrl and right-clicking the block where a room is designated (with the room menu open).

I totally agree they die too quick. I think that's a bit of a tuning issue. I want them to live up to 100+ and I think a lot of them die much too early. So, I'll take a look and fix that up.

Thanks for the bug reports (in the comments). They should be going to closest jobs, but maybe there's something weird happening to mess that up. I'll take a look.

Hmm, adults definitely don't age differently than kids. Age is marked (for humans at least) by hours, so they both age at the same rate. I usually hear that humans populate too quickly, so I wonder if you're building enough homes/beds for your settlement?

Time does pass weirdly and that's intentional. If time worked like our world, you could play for hours and hours and never see a child become an adult. You would never see the growth of your community, and the family trees unfold. Also, you'd never perceive the difference between long lived races and short lived ones. I want players to appreciate that Ancients live forever, while Human lives are fleeting. Without that sped up time, they would feel the same. I want players to be able to develop a settlement, and see generations of families come and go, and be able to look back down a lineage of greatness. I want you to see monarchs come and go. I want some of your settlers to become legends that other settlers talk about... Read more

Voidlands are rare because they are created from the use of large amounts of void magic. In the future, I'm going to give them way more chaotic events, flora, and fauna.

Ah ok. In the notification settings, you can disable all pausing and camera focusing for events.
