Yes, I've been meaning to have new items as disabled when discovered. Not a bug, just not an implemented behaviour yet.

I do plan on having events again, but I couldn't get them back in time for 1.0.

It's currently my main focus. Trying to fix up some of the slowdown and bugs late game as well. So it's taking a bit longer...

Hey folks!

Special thanks to Kingfisher for creating a new official Odd Realm Wiki, and to those that have been working on it. It has tons of helpful information about the game along with a bunch of great guides.

Cloud Saves
Cloud saves should now be working for the game. You can enable/disable them from the properties menu for the game in the steam client.

Sorry for the delay on adding scroll input rebinds. It's now at the top of my to-do list. I've been back from vacation for a few weeks working on various things folks have request. Lots to do!

That said, zooming in/out is already hotkeyed to the scroll wheel, but you hold ctrl. So, ctrl+scroll wheel.

Obviously that's not exactly what you're requesting (you want it just to be scroll with no modifier), but I thought I'd mention just in case anyone doesn't know you can still zoom with the scroll wheel.

Not yet, but it's something on my to-do list. This will be part of the town hall's benefits.

I've fixed the hauling requirement to require writing for the next patch, but what you'll need to do is enable the hauling skill in the town haul occupant permissions. Then, settlers with that skill will join the room and do that job.

Once I'm back next week, I'll take a look. Also, if you experience this, I'd love to see the save file. I don't really encounter this issue in my play sessions, so I feel like you're doing something I'm not. Would love to take a look at your save files to help address this specific problem.

Thanks!

Still here. Just on vacation with my family. Will be back working on the game next week.

Sounds like you have the temperature overlay on. There’s a button to toggle it by the minimap. Click it to disable the overlay.

If you encounter anything like this in the future, restarting the app should reset those overlays.

Yes you can. Just place water adjacent to the dirt the plant is on.

Hey friends!

1.0.30.0 is up. I focused some more on idle settler issues and various annoying bugs. The snow not melting was a big one and should be all good now.

Settlers should again bring items to jobs even though the settler doesn't do the job as their profession. You can disable this functionality by disabling hauling for an entity. They default with this enabled. And, I also fixed a bug related to this which kept entities from doing their jobs if they didn't have hauling enabled. So, hopefully, that all works as expected now.

I'm getting lots of great feedback from the community. I'll continue to respond to that as best I can as well as expand upon the tutorial a lot more. Thanks for being patient and learning the game the annoying hard way for now.

Thanks for the feedback AZ!

The tutorial is a work in progress and is only 20% complete. So, that's why it ends at a certain point. I'm going to continue expanding it. Your feedback is appreciated.

I was also thinking of adding some in game legend or manual. That would be a great addition.

As for Das' comment, I think a lot of people believe I intentionally left out a tutorial or assume players will just get the game. And, that's not the case. It simply came down to running out of time. As a solo dev funding your own game, you do the best with the time you have and hope things work out. Sometimes you just can't make it work. And that's ok. I'll keep working on it and hopefully you get to play it when it has a better tutorial and the experience has improved.

Anyway, thank you for taking the time to write these notes on the tutorial.

Eating/drinking are priority 4 by default and *should* interrupt jobs. I'd love to take a look at the save file to see what's up. Also, which version are you on? 1.0.29.0?

Thanks
