  • Removed the 100% initialising text once VR has finished loading to allow for a smoother loading transition
  • Improved VR distance grab
  • Lowered the number of photos needed for the 3 star footstep weekly task
  • Increased VR players grab distance by 50%. This does not affect teleport grab

  • The sanity system has been replaced to increase cpu performance.
    • Sanity is no longer based on the light around you and will now stop draining if the main room light is on
    • Large rooms with a lot of dark areas (e.g. Sunny Meadows Hallways) will now drain at 80% of the sanity drain rate if the room light is on

  • Gamepad players can now press the south (Xbox - A) button to quick access the main menu board
  • You can now press the east button (Xbox - B) to exit the spirit box text voice recognition without dropping the item

Reminder: Please do not force close the game before getting this patch.


  • Added a fake bounced light effect to Flashlight T1/2 light cookies, to help with motion sickness when using high FOV and navigating in the dark
  • Improved main menu load times
  • Reduced memory footprint in some maps
  • Increased the knock over chance for tripods

  • All money and rewards will be updated to accomodate for the new equipment reworks
  • Finding the ghost type will reward the most money as it takes the longest
  • More dangerous optional objectives will reward more money / XP

  • All equipment will have new visuals
  • Most of the equipment is being rebalanced
  • Most equipment will be upgradeable, adding new gameplay features and visuals
  • Upgrades will only cost money to unlock, each “level” of equipment will cost the same (this means you can still use level 1 camera if you prefer the challenge or visuals)
  • Some equipment will become consumable (similar to sanity pills), upgrades increase “uses” so you have to buy them less (matches > cheap lighter > Zippo)
  • 1 new equipment item will now be used to find extra physical evidence for extra rewards

Hey, thank you for the post. We really appreciate the feedback on what can be improved.

We are definitely going to be hiring a bigger team in the near future, we are at the moment nearing completion on a new office that will allow us to expand the team a considerable amount. We are currently in a small office so it is unfortunately impossible for the time being.

We'll be working on the lighting system as a priority this week, we'll have news to share on this soon.

Regarding the smudge bug, there was a change a few days before the update released that caused this so it was not the fault of the testers. We'll be making changes to how we release and test updates in the future to allow for a smoother release.

  • Added new sounds for radios in houses and campsites

  • This weeks challenges will now be correctly generated

To clear up some confusion with legacy badge, your badge can currently only be seen in multiplayer by another player on your character. This will change in a future update when we add new character models.

  • Save files will now be backed up more often


  • If you have a corrupt save file you will no longer get stuck on initializing and will now revert to your cloud backup
  • Non hosts will no longer crash when a player leaves the game
  • When you play this update for the first time you should no longer have a low legacy level on your legacy badge
