Stay safe everyone at RPG, I would be really upset if something happened to you lot after all the work you folks put into turning PS2 around.

Thank you! Our thoughts are with everyone in our community as well - stay safe out there. The communications challenge aside, I think we’re pretty well-situated now to not lose significant time when it comes to live service ops and future development.

EDIT (430pm, March 19): In case people missed my response below, 2XP is ON for this weekend starting after we patch tomorrow (~8am PDT) and running through Sunday, March 22 (11:59pm PDT).

---

We haven't confirmed dates/timing internally yet - getting the entire team setup in WFH environments to safely continue development took priority, bear with us! - but we had already been planning a 2XP event to make up for time lost due to the EU login issues last weekend.

We're just making sure those issues are fully resolved and that we don't have any remaining significant crashes occurring on Live before confirming timing.

Does that mean we can count on some rebalancing of the qualification system before the start of the season?

PS. Take care and stay safe :)

This Alpha season is going to be used as a baseline for adjustments to come the following cycle, so no changes are planned before then. It's important we don't make kneejerk changes before we have proper data across all the areas we're observing. Players need time not only to figure out the rhythm, behavioral changes need time to settle (honeymoon phases always have skewed data,) and probably most importantly, we need to know how players end up breaking the system, so that we know all the areas we need to hit when we do make changes for the next round.

Hey everyone,

I wanted to provide a brief update on a few misc things…

We performed a full client/server update this morning with list of bug fixes and changes that can be found here – https://forums.daybreakgames.com/ps2/index.php?threads/march-17-2020-escalation-hotfix-pc.253691/

In our ongoing effort to continue smashing bugs that have existed since pre-Escalation update, we published a client-only hotfix to address a crash related to vehicle physics that has been lingering for quite a while. In addition, ...

Yea, that’s a cool idea. I’ll have to check with Carto, Wrel and co where there thinking is right now. It definitely is a topic we could/should really dive into whenever we’re able to livestream next.

(edit: sorry for the double comment, fat phone fingers)

Thanks for the post, u/OspreyyFR, really appreciate the amount of thought and work you put into this.

It's still (very) early for us to fully analyze how OW impacts the meta, given we haven't yet started qualification for our first preseason - and I'd emphasize that it IS a preseason, one we intend to use to gather community feedback so we can change, iterate, balance, etc. I 100% agree that what it means to be the "best" Outfit in PS2 isn't entirely clear-cut and quantifiable, and we don't want qualification to simply turn into a farming simulator for the biggest Outfits.

Apart from continuing to make changes to refresh the competition itself (I don't want to overtease before we've even played our first "war" but I think we have some pretty cool concepts that could play out ove...
