Streamlining the options present was meant to speed up and stabilize matchmaking. Too many options = slow wait times, and we'd like to have something quick and reliable, first and foremost.

The “esports” element is also unbelievably bad. I just waited a day to participate in a tournament; 8 spaces, 607 applications. I didn’t make it. Good for the 8 guys who did, I guess. Extremely disappointing and frustrating.

When you eliminate options for how people can play, you are making your game strictly worse. That’s all.

This first Tourney was small on purpose. It's our first and we're trying to make sure we don't overload the servers.

We expect to have a lot more, larger tourneys in the future.

What the hell happened to multiplayer and random matching, and why??

Things were streamlined in order to create faster matches. We noticed a lot of players concerned about long wait times, so we've retooled Random Matchmaking into more of a "Quick Play" setup, for those who want to "push the button and play".

I played with my friends, and we don’t have time to babysit a game that times out on us. We want to play at whatever speed our schedules allow.

24 hours is a lot of time

Well, live games are stressful (unlike 5 minute games), not being able to chose map size is VERY limiting and not being able to play against more than three players makes it a lot less interesting, some large games were great.

I can't see what was wrong with having more options.

Matchmaking speed, specifically.

Note, many of these options are still available for custom games with friends, not random matchmaking. Matchmaking is meant to get people into fast games without a lot of waiting around, which was an issue we had with the system before this update. More options = more wait time for the matchmaker to find you players, so we streamlined it.

Bugs in multiplayer (version 93)

  • 5, 15 and 60 minute games not available anymore.

  • We can't choose map size anymore.

  • Only 1 or 3 opponents available.

How can so many bugs not be fixed before the new version is released? I wish I hadn't updated the app.

These aren't bugs, but intentional design choices in order to make matchmaking simpler.

The many that were using them to cheese their way to wins I’m sure. Yeah there’s a great mix of acceptance and the opposite for daggers and at the end of the day you can’t please everybody when they’re telling you to go 2 different directions. I think personally (though I’m not a genius game dev or even competent by any means) in the future adding a feature (if only on creative( a sandbox would be awesome too!!! (Very distant future though we get it!)))where we can enable or disable cloaks. (Im sure more can be added to that I’m not the brains here) and we only have to worry about them on multiplayer or ranked matches (discord) because they are a power in their own right and have strategies to use and counter them. Which is perfect for pvp!! But annoying when a bot has. Idk how much more resources a a crazy bot gets but it’s significant. But on a level playing field they’re a great asset. Just get tiresome to deal with!

We are looking into improving the ways that AI use them. Hopefully in more strategic ways and not just spam.

Increase their attack and nerf their def if that’s the case. Make them like a real guerrilla unit. Quick and deadly but not very strong. These current cloaks def is crazy. Before the update they were game breaking now they’re just taking the fun out of it. I will say it’s wayy less often I see them now

We want Cloaks/Daggers to actually be able of performing their jobs. If anything, Daggers might be too easily removed, honestly. Many seem to think that Cloaks and Daggers are underpowered thanks to the previous update.

I always thought it was because they were rioters. Like whenever they attack a unit, they were caught off guard and needed time to organize a counter attack.

Rioters, partisans, guerrilla fighters, etc.

They're irregulars, but better at their jobs than simple peasants given clubs.

I don’t like that daggers are not hit back after attacking other units. I think that should be changed.

It is the way it is so that they wouldn't just suicide themselves against a walled Defender. We want them to be something you have to deal with.
