The triple threat!

Very simple pickaxe and toolbelt design. It covers what can be augmented, what can be put in and taken out of the toolbelt, and what the 'special' picks will do in the rework. Full design here.

Updated XP rate spreadsheets for both Mining and Smithing. These are very much still subject to feedback and playtesting, but basically represent where we want the numbers to be. The smithing spreadsheet in particular is pretty complex and requires a good understanding of the new mechanics to really make sense of.

Hey everyone!

We're now approaching the end of the working week here at Jagex, but we wanted to give you an overview of everything related to Solak, in this post you'll find information on what bugfixes we have coming, what hotfixes we've done so far and much more!

It goes without saying that we're thrilled with Solak's release so far, streams that broadcasted Solak did incredibly well and we here at Jagex loved watching the battles on our screens.

Unfortunately some bugs did slip by, some of these revolved around bypassing the damage caps we implemented in to Solak to stop you "skipping" phases.

We’re assessing how many players abused this and will follow through with appropriate action based on the severity of their abuse. Bug abuse is something we will not tolerate.

However, our work is never done, we've been relentlessly tracking down issues and fixing them where possible, to give you an idea check out the list below

Bugfixes & ...

Hey!

We're going to be deploying an NXT warm fix shortly to aid and hopefully fix the white item issue that players have been experiencing recently. Hopefully this will put an end to light-dye.

Thanks :)

Updated version of the drop table design. The changes are:

  • Salvage now drops in five sizes to better match existing alch values.
  • Dragonscales renamed to Stone Spirits (but the function is the same).

Full design here.

I could be the exception; I can't imagine having any trouble with purchasing bonds, either you pay for them on the website or you buy them off the Grand Exchange. They seem quite straightforward in their purchase and use to me but perhaps I'm giving others too much credit.

I appreciate why it could be useful to canvass opinion, but in my opinion, this poll didn't really canvass opinion other than the last "Any further comments" box.

My gripe really was as you say, "prefer not to waste your time with irrelevant questions". I'm not anti-bond or anything, I just see them as perhaps more straightforward to use than your data would have suggested. I was really just a bit chumped that this is the first email I get from the company since being subscribed to the mailing list February-ish; makes me feel a bit like I'm signed up solely for bond polls rather than it being part of a mixed content email delive...

Depending on your answers you were asked certain questions, if you didn't have an issue with your Bonds purchase then you were not asked some of the extra questions in the survey.

I'm not one to usually gripe too much about MTX but being signed up for emails, I don't expect pointless surveys like this that I'm sure you could have analysed with ingame or website tools.

Thanks for reading

The Bonds survey was sent out on behalf of Player Support and will help us to make informed decisions as we continue to improve Player Experiences across the board.

We regularly investigate different contact reasons to help improve the experience for our players, especially if they’ve needed to contact us. Players needing assistance with Bonds happens to be one of our top contact reasons, so we are eager to improve the situation where we can.

While we do have more stats than you can shake a stick at, it’s also useful to have a proper emotive understanding of the experience and this isn’t always obvious from cold, hard, statistics. The survey has been designed to capture information that other analysis might not provide and helps to define your User Journeys and identify any strengths or weaknesses, hopefully resulting in necessary changes.

We also appreciate that your time is incredibly valuable so we often have logic built into...

Today we've got a special, highly anticipated treat - it's the design for what we're going to do with drop tables and the spring cleaner.

Full design here

I know this is going to be a contentious one and we'll do our best to take feedback into account and update the design accordingly. (We already made pretty significant changes to earlier designs which are explained ...

While we're happy with the overall direction of the project, we've made a lot of changes to the design based on feedback from the beta and the previously shown design docs.

There are other smaller changes (primarily usability and QOL fixes) but these are the biggest ones.

Ore Box

The ore bag, which was created and destroyed automatically, has been re-imagined as the ore box which you make using Smithing (or buy from the GE) and have to remember to take with you.

Full design here.

Upgraded Masterwork Armour Degrading

Based on substantial amounts of feedback on the subject, upgraded masterwork armour now degrades to broken rather than to dust. The repair cost is a piece ...

Hi AkshayTP,

As I’m sure you will understand, we’re constantly amending our name filters in an attempt to remove any unwanted content from the game - it’s a constant challenge to stay up to date with any words or terms which may be deemed as offensive.

Should we add a new term to our name filter we won’t immediately remove any names that contain that term, however as soon as the name is released from an account it will no longer be available for a player to claim.

Our systems work in such a way that even if the filtered word is included as part of a longer name, the name will be affected by the filter.

We are currently looking into the name filter and what changes can be made, but for now, it’s going to be a case of choosing an alternative name to set onto the account.

I can see you’ve also submitted a ticket regarding the situation. I’ve noted your account thoroughly regarding the situation and we’ll see what we can do about the bond purcha...

A proposed design for the Artisan's Workshop in the rework, which will be reimagined as a Smithing Guild:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1pysGiuVFvd05zNJncg1P6hz5Yzi4ea7fN5c25gkxrcs/edit?usp=sharing

This is the only large area we're planning on making major changes to. We are not intending to make major changes to other areas (like the blast furnace orlava flow mine) in order to make them relevant again. However, the AW is so significant that we wanted to keep it at the centre of the smithing skill.

If you're wondering about the state of feedback on the Masterwork and Upgraded Masterwork design, by far the most raised point was about it degrading to dust. This issue is still being discussed by the combat council as it has ...

Wow, this is fantasic /u/ImRubic.

However I would like to clarify a few things...

Submission

The line

"Google is more relaxed with the process."

was not meant to be taken literally :P. The process for submitting builds to both Google and Android is quite stressful and there are a lot of rules we have to abide by. This was more of a throw away comment because we managed to get it passed Google a bit faster than Apple.

App Size

You have stated some sizes for initial sizes, however these were plucked from memory and wont be accurate. Could you put a disclaimer stating this :).

Ribbon

This line

Ribbon Icons - Customizable layout. (44 pixels vs normal 36 pixels).

Hey - I head up Player Support at Jagex, so just to clarify:

  • We provide Player Support 24/7, 365 days a year
  • Our core office hours are 8am to 10pm UK time
  • Over night, from 10pm to 8am UK time we have Player Support staff working from home, set up as if they were in the office, responding to queries, account recovery appeals, checking bug reports, player abuse reports, and importantly, checking that systems are operational, and escalating to Dev & Tech on call teams if there is a problem.
  • Specifically on Twitter, we monitor this during our core hours, with the assistance of Community Helpers, and we have ensured that the Community Helper volunteers are situated around the world, so there is help available on Twitter between 10pm & 8am UK time.

Your best option, always, is to visit the Support Centre and submit your query from there - contrary to the belief of some, twitter support is about signposting players to the suppo...
