Hey guys,

Just wanted to provide you a quick update on the chat window changes. After listening to your feedback we’ll be taking another look at the UI and coming up with a design that takes your needs into account, but also the needs of new players.

The change we made on Monday was to present information in a more understandable way. Results of playtests and analytics suggest that the chat window and a new player’s ability to interact with other players is somewhat overwhelming. The result of this is that many of these players are put off from communicating with other players in the game, which is a bad thing because a player that is involved with the community gets into the game quicker and forms relationships which keeps them enjoying the game.

Hope this helps you to understand our reasoning behind the change.

It is currently waiting on someone from engine to "sanity" check it to make sure it is actually feasible. So for the moment it is on hold. Engine are a bit slammed with work so not sure when they will get around to looking at it.

The minimum size of 800x600 is enforced on all platforms now, but on Linux it is implemented without scrollbars due to limitations of the windowing library used there (SDL), this is unlikely to change

The launcher staying visible on Linux is a known low priority bug

What do you like about it, what would you like to change?

As someone who's interested in absolute completion the achievement system is perfect for me, sadly this isn't what I hoped for at all.

Current issues:

  • Path system seems useless to me as a high level player.
  • Some of the paths seem redundant, just completed two different ones where all I had to do was teleport to GWD and Tollheim
  • Pictures are pointlessly large. The majority don't convey any useful information e.g. I don't know which task set level, easy, medium, etc most tasks belong to. The rest appear to be the same basic image of the logo. Also the image of the teleport symbol are horribly stretched (see picture). Comp/trim/MQC should use pictures of the cape.

A few comments and questions;

"Path system seems useless to me as a high level player." The path system is primarily aimed at new and returning players. It's there to give them a set of short term goals to reach high level achievements. As a high level player yourself you probably wont benefit from it as much. That being said, what kinds of paths would interest you as a high level player?

You're a high level player coming to that path, probably after gaining access to GWD and killing a boss or two. All that was left was for you to use the teleport again to unlock an achievement. So, been hearing a lot about issues with drops.

We wanted to bring the other two kings inline with Prime. To see if we managed that, we have access to the fancy stats and graphs here; http://imgur.com/a/69fUR

Be aware that this is one day of data only for the new drop tables. The red line shows the MEDIAN drop value per kill (Median = Average without statistical outliers, like hatchet drops).

My thoughts, based only on one day of data, are that Supreme and Prime are right where we wanted them; supreme is worth the same as prime per kill and median on Prime's drops seems to have remained its usual range.

Hi everyone - just wanted to reassure you that we definitely do listen to what you are saying and there are lots of good points being made here.

We do want to continue to experiment with different styles of promotion to keep things interesting, and in particular, previous feedback from the Flight of the Butterflies event was that backtracking over previously opened chests felt unfair. We wanted to change that up and see if the ‘boardgame’ style interface was worth pursuing. We’ve got more new types of event in the pipeline which we hope you will enjoy and also some great new cosmetics on Solomon’s Store.

Understandably this requires a much higher attention to the results, so maybe it would be better to just try and include more options.

This is the first survey and is focused on gauging the temperature with you guys on the broad thoughts we're having at the moment.

There'll be more focused surveys later on which may ask for specific opinions.
