At this point the update had been out a year. It's clear his priorities are elsewhere since he's obviously working on another game. It just sucks to feel forgotten about. Why start on a new game when your last game isn't finished?

You're right, it is my game and I ultimately take full responsibility for the delay. I hate to make excuses but there were many things outside of my control that lead to this. I have not forgotten about the mobile update, in fact I think about it every day and it causes me a huge amount of grief. I want the update to come out more than anyone. It would be a huge relief to me if the update was ready and was released. I have been working on the new game because I don't have the skills or knowledge to be able to do a mobile port. I've never done any of the ports for stardew valley, I'm not a porting guy, I don't have any experience with that. So I've always relied on other people to do that. If I could throw more money at the problem to make it go faster, I would. Programming doesn't always work like that, especially with a game as nebulously coded as Stardew Valley, which only a few people on the planet have any familiarity with. I've said repeatedly that I would let everyone know if...

Unfortunately, this update broke mouse input completely for me. I can't see the mouse ingame. If I open the inventory, the mouse shows up, but if I close it again, the mouse keeps moving to the top left corner of the screen, even leaving the screen because I have multiple monitors. Switching between item slots with the mouse wheel no longers work. Scrolling in the menus with mouse wheel and with the scrollbars does not work, as it keeps scrolling up all the time.

You can also no longer skip the intro with escape. And you can no longer trigger the easter egg by clicking the ConcernedApe logo, as the mouse cannot be moved during that time.

I'm on Windows 10 64 Bit, no mods.

Hey, if you could give me a little more information about your set up, that would be helpful. Are you using multiple monitors? Do you have a game pad plugged into the computer?

One thing you can try is going into options and turning game pad mode to "off". See if that helps. Thanks!

I installed the new 1.5.5 update and ever since then, my game is ever so slightly stuttering when moving around, especially when there's a lot of stuff happening on the screen. The game itself isn't particularly resource intensive, so not sure what's going on with it?

If anyone here can give me as much info as possible about your hardware, that would be helpful. Are you playing on a desktop? A laptop? What kind of Graphics hardware (GPU) do you have?

also, please try this and let me know if it helps:

1) In the windows search bar, type in "device manager". open it

2) expand the "display adapters" section

3) If there are two devices listed, identify if one is the "integrated graphics unit", and the other a dedicated graphics card. Integrated graphics will often be called something like "Intel UHD Graphics", whereas a dedicated card will be called something like "NVidia Geforce RTX etc.", but it will vary depending on your set up. You may have to do a little research online to verify.

NOTE: If there's only one device listed, then these instructions aren't applicable to you.

4) If you've identified the integrated graphics, right click it and select "disable device". The screen may go black for a mome...

Hey, this actually isn't true. I worked for about 9 months exclusively on the 1.5 update. During those nine months, I did work with one other person (Mr. Podunkian), who did a lot of the programming, and collaborated with me on many of the systems and ideas... but I didn't hand the game off to anyone else. I also never actually hired any artists. I am very particular and protective of Stardew so I don't think I could ever just hand off an update to other people without being involved myself

I think playing with more than 4 is a lot of fun. The only crash I am certain of, is if you try to go to the movie theater with more than 4 people at once (if you just go in batches of 4 it's fine). Other than that, there might be a few odd visual things, like people not lined up right at the flower dance.

That's great, I'm glad you're having fun and it's keeping you and your nephew close. I also started a group farm with some friends about a year ago and we've played once a week since then. It's been fun, we're almost finished with the entire game though. Enjoy it!

Just saw this article a second ago and came here to ask a question on literally the first post that came up when I searched for this game... and I could be wrong.... aren't a bunch of the assets that concernedape used from chucklefish or otherwise borrowed, too? Terraria has a lot of very very similar art, and starbound. It's been awhile since I've looked at what's what, company and licensing wise but....

No, I drew everything in Stardew Valley from scratch

This could be due to a few things:

  • Something is blocking the connection between you and your bf. This could be a firewall, antivirus, bad internet connection, etc. Please make sure there's nothing like this causing it.
  • There could be an issue with the authentication servers (run by GOG), that is used to connect all stardew PC multiplayer games. There is no definite way to solve this, but trying multiple times, signing in and out of steam, and even changing your steam username have all been reported to help.

Are you using a VPN?

Unfortunately I don't have control over this, these videos are uploaded by TuneCore, which is the music "distributor" I use to get the soundtrack on Spotify, iTunes, etc.

I reached out to them once, asking if they could at least enable comments on these videos but they can't.

The entire stardew OST is uploaded to Youtube elsewhere though, if you just type in "Stardew OST" you should be able to find it

haha it was just a coincidence... the "other project" I mentioned was not the board game. I'm still a video game developer first and foremost!

I'm aware of this issue, but I really don't think it has to do with the update. There were no changes in the update which would have affected this, and people were reporting the issue before the update, too. Also, some people are saying it just starts working again, and wondering if there was a patch to fix something -- there was no patch. I think it has to do with the underlying matchmaking servers that are run by Steam & GOG. It could also just be that some people have firewall, antivirus, or other systems that are interfering with multiplayer, and there are more reports than usual right now because the update just came out and more people are playing the game than normal. I had this issue happen to me, as well, and I got it to work by closing the game, going invisible or signing off steam, then opening again, and possibly repeating a few times. Eventually it just worked.

You can do it without a mod. Go to %appdata%/StardewValley and open the file called startup_preferences. ctrl + f for "playerLimit" and you'll find something like this: -1.

Change the -1 to any number you like... (e.g. 8). Now you can play with up to that number of people.

Keep in mind every person will need a cabin in order to join. And the mode is slightly experimental, so some things might work a little strangely. The only actual crash I know of is if you try to go to the movie theater with more than 4 people. You have to go in batches of 4 and it will work fine.

Have fun

if you run left off the screen, but just barely, then run down and right so that you are at the entrance below the cliffs, it should at least warp you to a different map. Still not sure why this bug happens!

An extractor would completely take the human element out of the equation. I just don't want to go that route.

The point of the hopper, to me, isn't really for "automation", it's a convenience machine intended mostly for limited use, for example, you can throw your ores and coal into one and then not have to fiddle with grabbing ores/coal from your chests every time you want to reload a furnace

I'll explain more as soon as I can. OP is correct that I currently don't host or administrate the wiki. I want to be 100% transparent with the community all the time, but unfortunately it's not always possible.
