I was actually a WOW player for many years (undead mage), and while I don't play it anymore, I do think the game had an influence on my game development style. Many people describe Stardew Valley as "addictive" and I think some of that might come from the WOW influence.

If you just want what's on screen, then sure, F12 is fine. But if you want the whole farm in your shot, you have to go through the menu for it, there is no hot key. As for F4, it's meant as a tool for screenshots with F12 by getting rid of the GUI overlay(the toolbar, and the date/time/money panel up in the top right corner).

Perhaps u/ConcernedApe could add a hotkey for taking a shot of the whole farm when/if there is another update?

Hi, there is a quicker way to do it. Press the '/' key and then type "mapscreenshot" and press enter. You can also add optional parameters to the command to set the name and the zoom level (e.g. "/mapscreenshot myfarm_1 50" would create a screenshot of the current map called "myfarm_1.png" at a 50% zoom level (Default zoom level is 25%)

My 18 month old loovvveessss the overture! She could be playing with something else but as soon as she hears the opening bars she'll stop whatever she's doing to stand in front of the TV and clap, dance, "hum" (it's just a flat "ahhhhhh" but it's obvious she's trying to hum), and/or sway to the song. She's recently started bopping her head to other tracks while giving us a big smile.

I have no musical training (besides playing percussion for a year in middle school), but I did play guitar and make electronic music starting in high school, and before that I played around a lot on a little electric keyboard I had. I never learned to read music or any music theory or anything like that. Glad to hear that your daughter loves the music haha

mizkyu is right, I used Propellerhead Reason to make all the music. Mostly I just used whatever instruments were in the default libraries. Sometimes I'd make some synths myself too. I made a lot of the sound effects in Reason too.

It's been my greatest pleasure. I'm extremely grateful to everyone who has supported this game and made all of this possible. And yes, I agree that the Stardew Valley community is truly wonderful, and a big part of this whole story! Thank you!

no problem, glad it's fixed. Have fun!

No, it did not fix the issue

Are you playing with gamepad or with keyboard and mouse? If keyboard and mouse, then how about setting gamepad mode to "force off"?

Issue: When putting a single item kind (even if there are multiple of them) into a chest, the cursor automatically moves back to the top left square of the chest inventory after the item has been placed. So while you clicked on the item in your backpack, your cursor moves to the top left afterwards. The one way to get around this is to move an item from the chest into your backpack first, and then things behave normally, and your cursor does not move automatically.

Single-player or multi-player: Single

If you go into options and set "gamepad mode" to "force on", does it solve the problem?

This should be fixed in the upcoming 1.4.3 patch. I think it might only happen if you're wearing the napalm ring

Issue: This started happening about 40 hours into my new game and now happens consistently. Small colorful triangles appear on the edges of my screen and go downwards or upwards and out of screen inversely proportionate to the direction I am walking. They will appear, a few will collect, and then they will disappear after I walk around. Distracting and annoying.

It's probably the "Tracker" professions, which shows you the location of forageable items as well as diggable spots. There is a way to change professions if you'd like to

Bug: Placing Paths/Bombs on Switch

I’m playing on Switch and I can’t place paths. I’d say it works about 20% of the time. Going in and out of the farm or in and out of buildings doesn’t help. I’m on single player, it’s Winter Year 7.

Edit: I also can’t place bombs. It’s winter, when I usually rearrange my farm (placing paths) or head to skull cavern. I currently can’t do either of those things.

Edit 2: My character woke up this morning and the few brick paths that I had managed to put down have all disappeared. Gonna guess this is a brick path issue in particular, but that doesn’t explain why I can’t place bombs.

Edit 3: Can’t place sprinklers either. So currently the issue is placing bombs, paths, and sprinklers.

Edit 4: Oh god, this is getting worse. I can’t place walls. I don’t know how to even play the game at this point. It’s not fun anymore. Wish I hadn’t updated...

If you go into the options menu and turn off "item stowing", does it solve the problem? Also, please try pressing the A button (not the Y Button) to place bombs, paths, and sprinklers

There is a new feature called "item stowing", which can be turned off in the options menu. If you press Y while holding an item, it will "stow" it, so that you don't accidentally gift it to someone or eat it. Pressing A will always use the item. Do you think that might be the cause?

I'm sorry... I tried to see what was causing the problem, but I wasn't able to figure it out. Some causes are much easier to identify than others, and this is an obscure one. Typically I look for missing data in the save file, or vestigial modding data, but I didn't find anythign like that. The only odd thing about what you sent is the .bak files that were in the save folder (many of them)... this is not generated by Stardew Valley so I'm not sure what's going on there...

Comment

Hi, can you send me your save file? It's located in %appdata%/StardewValley/Saves ... just zip the whole folder with your character's name on it... you could upload it to a filesharing site like dropbox or google drive and share the link with me here. I'll see if I can discover anything or help you out

Hey, you did a really great job on this (and the other two)! Even though the instrumentation is obviously very different, you were able to be faithful to the originals in all the important ways but then expanded on them very tastefully, I appreciate that. Thanks for sharing

I just passed out died in the skull cavern and didn't lose anything other than the 1,000g Harvey takes. Not sure if this is a bug or something that randomly happens.

Edit: I was able to replicate the issue two more times - died two more times on separate days, still didn't lose anything other than some gold to Harvey.

Your chance to lose items is random, so you probably just got lucky and didn't lose any items. It can happen! The fewer items you have on you, the less likely you are to lose anything.

Any ideas?

Are you on version 1.4.2? If not, is the current day a festival in town? There was a crash in 1.4.0 if you triggered that event while a festival was being set up in town. If you are up to date and/or it's not a festival, my next guess would be mods, but if you'd like to send over an error log (%appdata%/StardewValley/ErrorLogs) you can DM that to me and I might be able to tell you more or discover a bug. Thanks

I might be able to get it back in on consoles, but the reason it was patched out on consoles was because there were certain cases where the exploit could cause a crash, and that was apparently preventing the game from passing the console certification (PC platforms don't have a certification process like that). Just so you know, consoles don't yet have the 1.4 update, but it should be coming very soon
