The team knows that 2.2 sectors had issues. That said there were some issues prior to that too.

The system is still needed to balance micromanagement on huge galaxies, but the devs' approach to redesigning it is changing. They'd rather take things a little slower and introduce the changes you've been asking for, over a few patches to address both the present and earlier issues.

It's never ideal to have to wait, but initial response I've seen online to the changes is good, so I hope you'll all like what's been done and what will follow. :)

No need to mess around with any files. As others stated, simply update your NET Framework if you encounter this issue. :)

Stellaris' game director has a bigger plan for sector improvements, but it's big enough that it can't be done in a single patch. So this is a first step and you can read about the future plans here: https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/stellaris-dev-diary-147-an-update-on-sectors-designations.1175704/

Hi guys. We're looking into something now. Are you playing with the test branch? If so please opt out of it and check if it fixes the problem!

That's how the system works. Depending on your scientist's skill and the digsite's difficulty, they'll keep rolling to gain progress in the excavation. If the digsite is out of their league it can take many "rounds" to make progress.

You should be able to play using 2.2 saves with 2.3, though due to the present changes, stuff might be a bit wonky. Especially with sector generation (that system underwent a rework in 2.3) and some balance, so your economy might go out of whack.

That said, saves should work on principle.

If you want to enjoy the new content however, you will need to create a new galaxy to have it populated with it.

Make sure to opt out of the beta branch if you're using it and restart Steam. :)

Nice thread, but it has nothing to do with Stellaris so I'm going to lock it.

Previously you were able to revert back to earlier versions of Paradox Development Studios (PDS) games at will on Steam. These specific versions predate the enactment of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) - hence they are not compliant with the new policy.

In order to continue our endeavor to reach full GDPR compliance, we have designed a new system regarding the access to earlier versions of PDS titles: from the 1st of October 2018 onward all previous versions of PDS titles will be locked under a Steam password.

After 1st October, you will need to log into the Paradox Plaza website with your Paradox Account to access the codes for previous branches of each game that you own. This will, however, require you to link your Steam account to your Paradox Account. In an effort to comply with the GDPR, this is something we need to put behind the Paradox logins as it requires agreement to the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use to ...

I've opened this thread up again. Please keep it civil and don't start a "PC Master Race" discussion or bait/troll. Also, perhaps this would be a better thread if OP expanded on their points.

Feel free to make a post over in the bug report section of the official forums so that a dev can look into it. https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?forums/stellaris-bug-reports.941/

The only permabans I've ever given out, iirc, are things relating to piracy. Otherwise, I don't remember ever permabanning anyone on the forums. At most, I'll give them the longest ban duration. (I could be wrong since I have a bad memory, but the point is, it is extremely rare for me to permaban someone.

On that note, when I say ban, I mean temp ban as in a few days, week, or month ban. Yes, I agree that a 3 day ban can be a warning. To answer your question, I moderate the Steam hubs for Stellaris, HOI4, CK2, and EU4. With this new patch it's over 25+ reports a day (for Stellaris discussions), not counting replying to people who make a comment on their ban/warning. On top of this, the Stellaris workshop is constantly spammed, so I do mass banning over there for duplicate mods etc.

I see what you mean. I'll remember this next time. I usually give bans without warnings when a user is very toxic and was deserving of a ban, but what you said has a point. If there is no warning, then they can't change their behavior.

Hello everyone. Some of you may have seen me around. I handle the Steam forum reports as well as the User Generated Content (Workshop, Guides, etc.). I handle 99% of the reports around here.

I wanted to clear the air about a few things.

1. People who support the game/Paradox don't get banned/warned.

This is not true. I don't care if you've been supporting the game for 10 years or 10 days. If you break the rules, I will execute the appropriate punishment based on your past infractions/content.

So then why do people who disagree with popular opinions/Paradox get in trouble more than those who support Paradox?

I've thought about this and have come up with a simple explanation. Those who disagree can sometimes get very defensive and argumentative in their post. I’ve seen the term “fanboi” a lot lately, and that only baits the Paradox supporters to reply in a negative way and/or report the user.

So the problem isn’t... Read more
