No that did not work, even using my second computer still failed, although the site wasnt as borked. 
Apparently my auto renew payment failed, which it should not have, i got not notification of this, and my account went into preferred mode which i guess is right but there is no reason the payment should have failed.
The error is very non-descript and doesnt give me a reason  for the failure.
I got a similar error a couple days ago trying to add some CC, brushed it off, but apparently whatever this is has been affecting me for more than just the last 24 hours.

Shabir here and I am a Gameplay Designer on SWTOR. I wanted to start by saying we appreciate everyone for taking the time and effort to give feedback on the changes. I wanted to explain some of the changes we are making in the upcoming patch: 

 

Lightning/Telekinetics:

  • Patch Notes:  

  • Convection/Clamoring Force - Critical hit damage bonus goes to 12% (down from 15%).

  • Thundering Blast/Turbulence - Second arc of damage deals 20% of Turbulence's damage (down from 25%).  

  • Storm watch damage decreased by 4%

I logged in tonight to find myself "preferred" when i shouldn't be, and when attempting to check my account on the website it only half loaded and looked like an old text site from decades ago. 
In short i cannot play.

Hi everyone, 

We’re seeing some common issues players are reporting that can be fixed by using the Repair function. We wanted to highlight these scenarios for players, so they can get into a working state. 

  • If you see these type of errors:
  • Game not launching
  • Launcher crashing
  • Blank launcher screen
  • Slow launcher

Please try:

  • Open the launcher, go to settings, and run the Repair function
  • Or, if your launcher crashed during upgrade, please download the new installer from this page, run it, and choose "Repair"

If you are still experiencing issues and have not submitted your log file to Support, we highly suggest you do, so we can troubleshoot the issues ...
