Please attach files here rather than pasting in their whole contents, thanks.

I see OneDrive.exe is crashing on your machine. If your Windows User Documents folder is held there (ie in the MS cloud rather than locally) that would explain your problem.

If not though, please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-CK3
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/CK3 AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3 folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add CK3.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam CK3 or Documents CK3 locations, before installing again.

DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/EU4/settings.txt and pdx_settings.txt .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/EU4/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log , exceptions.log

Please delete everything in the Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/ folders except any valued save games, then start a new test galaxy under 3.8.2 - is that any better?

Please go into the Bug Reports forum here, and report the game's failure to respect the refreshRate=60 settings.txt parameter, thanks.

If you have any way of limiting the fps by other means, I think GeForce Experience can do this for instance, please do!

Sorry, forget about the .exe part, that does not apply to Macs.

This may be a bug on Macs at higher UI scaling settings. But we may as well try a clean reinstall:

- move any valued save games elsewhere, and user empire designs.txt from /Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/ if you have made any custom empires or races.
- "uninstall" in Steam-Stellaris
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/Stellaris AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- start the game with no mods active and test

In particular you need to make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam Stellaris or Documents Stellaris locations, before installing again.

If you have any sort of cursor customisation in Windows enabled, like mouse trails, turn that off please.

Otherwise please try deleting all Documents/Paradox Interactive/CK3 folders , copying any valued save games elsewhere first.

Good luck!

The "Attach Files" button here is the preferred way, FYI.

Right click on stellaris.exe , properties, compatibility. Tick "disable fullScreen optimisations" untick every other box in that dialog, Apply and exit.
Then in the launcher Game Settings menu, select fullScreen display mode, Vsync off, cap refresh rate to refresh rate 60.

Is that any better?

Is this in a save left over from a previous patch, or a new one under this patch, or both?

Is it that you have to force a reboot to get going again, or how do you have to do that?

I haven't seen other reports of that specific problem.

Is this in a new galaxy started since the patch , or one left over from previous patches, or both?

In the launcher, go to Game Settings, and ensure that your resolution is set correctly. Also switch between Borderless, fullscreen or windowed mode. Since we've also recently transitioned to DX11, you can try updating your video drivers.

If that doesn't help:, Please do a full clean re-install:

I don't know if GoG have a Verify files option in Galaxy. If not, all you can really do is uninstall the game, delete all remaining files, then install it again.

At 60hz the game should not be able to overheat your GPU. What actual fps are you seeing in the main menu, then in the game itself?

Still unable to duplicate this.

If you have access to a VPN, does that get past the problem for you? OR if you are using a VPN already, does unloading that get past the problem?

There are no CK3 crashes recorded in that dxdiag, but there are some LiveKernelEvent entries. These happen when Windows is forcibly downed or rebooted. Have you seen those happen, are they related to this game or something else?

What fps are you seeing in the game before it crashes, anything over 60?
