It's really not hard. There's always work to be done to make things better, but I was surprised by the realities of working on a global game. This job has honestly been an absolute joy and getting to see things from the internal side was extremely eye-opening and helpful for me in terms of problem-solving and building my own skills

16 battleship caliber guns is a LOT - especially when it comes to HE spamming.

When something has an easy potential to be way to good, we will often buff or nerf it slightly at first to see how it is affected.

Mecklenberg, for example, has the same number of guns with significantly better accuracy, but has 305's with the low damage characteristic of German HE. It's harder for that one to "run away" balance wise.

KOTS in 9v9 on Ocean would be terribly boring.
You'd see a smoke-line of cruisers farming battleships that get constantly pushed further and further back. I played this format in Succession League back in 2021 and the novelty of Ocean wore off very quickly.

I will say - that the best thing Ocean did was make people have to rethink builds to accommodate a map with no terrain. In KOTS / Succession this didn't matter because you knew ahead-of-time what map was coming, but in a Clan Battle format where your composition must take into account Ocean map ~15% of the time the effect is much different.

Dockyard ships are not slated to go to the Premium Shop any time soon. We are aware that folks do want to get access to them again, so we are looking for fun ways to bring them back without making the people who worked hard for them feel like they are "lessened".

Good morning!

I took Monday off because I had worked something like 8 days in a row.

The 200% bonus will apply to all game modes except Training Room. It is also possible that Clan Battles is not a part of that - though I was unable to get that confirmed.

Yes, of course we have folks whose job is to monitor "game health" statistics like how long battles last and how one-sided they might be. I can do that research easily myself without much effort.

Look... when people complain about "streamroll" and "one-sided" or "lopsided" matches, what they mean is: "One side loses so many ships that the game ends early and even the winning side doesn't get much XP - so it's lose / lose for everyone". This is simple. Winning so fast that even the winning team doesn't have time to get significant damage / kills and therefore everyone has a bad game.

This is easy to check with just a few metrics:

1. Average game length - (a lopsided match ends faster)

2. Average kills per game - (a steamroll results in few kills all piled on one team)

3. Average XP per match - (many one-sided matches will lower overall XP accumulation)

Camos are still worth credits. Some cannot be sold just yet, but will be able to be sold in the near future.

Again - a base XP mission is something that you will complete literally without thinking about it. This is a side-quest that you are welcome to bypass and ignore if you want! If aesthetics and credits mean nothing to you, then focusing your efforts on DY missions that have more tangible rewards may be the better options. There's a lot to do in the DY for free and it even includes a T7 premium!

The NA team is particularly proud of the Statue of Liberty Commander as we pushed for it's content creation and sourced the voice-over actress () - so we'd love to have her come back in the future.

I'm not sure exactly when or how, but it's awesome to know that people enjoyed her addition and would appreciate seeing her come back to availability.

Hi!

Forgive the long wait for the reply - the entire NA has been travelling together for the last few days.


So, I've been hearing this notion for a while now. For several patches, in fact - that more games are steamrolls than before and that this must be a factor of the match-maker not factoring in player's stats. I did some digging into match metrics and found that this is simply not the case. I compared average battle time and average number of deaths per match, along with a few other things. I did not see any difference between recently and before. Those being the two most obvious metrics, I have to conclude that this is something that people are perceiving, but is not actually changed.

Before we get the "spreadsheet says it's fine" memes, keep in mind what the two results of steamrolls SHOULD be: shorter matches and fewer deaths. That should translate to lower XP all around - something I also checked.

I'm not sure this qualifies as the sort of thing I want to bother the developers with, to be quite honest.

No offense intended, I just don't think it's something that makes much of a material difference.
