As we move into CSM 17, I wanted to briefly highlight some of the meetings and impact that CSM 16 had to better understand the role of the CSM for both voters and potential candidates alike. I would like to add that these summaries are by no means exhaustive; some subjects were redacted. Similarly, weekly meetings are only a portion of the CSM duties; each member is also on our internal CCP Slack where daily conversations occur over a variety of subjects. Those conversations are archived, but not recorded here. Moving forward, our aim is to have slightly more robust breakdowns once a quarter, to better keep the voting public abreast of ongoing conversations.

Fanfest may be over, but the universe is abuzz with a variety of community events and fun hijinks. Check out the Community Beat this week to learn more about the upcoming CSM elections, competitive EVE explosions, and maybe just maybe learn from the powers that be about what Bob has hiding out in wormhole space!

Happy to chime in on this as this is something I’m heavily involved in.

Influencer campaigns come in many different forms, and it’s something we’ve been actively engaging in for well over a year.

Selection is something that we are very cautious of; a random run-of-the-mill variety streamer probably won’t have a great time going into EVE blind for a short time. As one of EVE’s first streamers, I’m acutely aware of the challenges the game offers. To that end, we have a very robust selection process for candidates using a variety of metrics and intangible qualities. We harden this process after every cycle to ensure we’re on the right path with our selection, and occasionally we experiment with ‘riskier’ talent just to make sure we’re not leaving anything on the table.

The notion that the potential streamers are thrown into the deep end, blind, with no assets is not the case at all.

The CSM is one of several tools we use to gather information and listen to community feedback. While no single entity outside of CCP unilaterally decides the direction that CCP takes, the CSM is an incredibly valuable institution for developing the game alongside our community

A topic that has certainly been raised a lot - from a moderation standpoint it’s totally fine to discuss here, but I think you may get more eyes on a standalone thread to discuss the issue of ganking.

That is correct - this year we are allowing the options for those who wish to stay remote.

Just wanted to chime in to say I’m going to clean up the off-topic posts. I strongly encourage and embrace meaningful discourse and discussions, especially as it pertains to the CSM. However, low-effort troll posts will not be tolerated. You may think it’s fun, but what it actually does is stifle voices that I personally would be glad to hear from.

As a player I was proud to be on CSM 6 & 7, and running the CSM is a task I’m very honored to have. The amount of time and dedication both the CSM and CCP put into this venture is something unmatched in gaming. It is, of course, not our only way to communicate with players - though it’s a unique body that provides tremendous value. If you don’t believe that to be the case, I’m here as a resource to answer any and all questions to demonstrate otherwise.

Just an update: the remaining open seat will not be filled, and CSM 16 will finish their term with 9 members.

A more official update!

The e-mail was intended to only go out to players that had expiring SP in their redeem queue - completely unrelated to the Daily Login.

However, there was a small issue with the script and some pilots without expiring SP were incorrectly added to the e-mail list. All those e-mails were suspended until this can be re-evaluated.

We’re aware of this issue, but there’s a quick workaround - if you unstack the windows you can change the settings and then stack the windows again.
