My apologies for the misunderstanding. No, the new Uniques introduced in 0.8.5 will not have 3d models yet, and so are not included in the 25 Unique count. The reason for this is Uniques are generally finalized near the end of a patch cycle as they require a good amount of back and forth for ideas and balance, and 3d art takes a fair amount of time to complete.

A lot of ideas for Uniques don’t get implemented, and as 3d art takes time, they would need to start fairly early in the patch cycle. It would be a waste to have 3d artists work on models for ideas we decide not to implement later in the cycle for various reasons.

We’re planning to eventually have 3d models for all Unique Weapons and Offhands. The provided examples are included in the 25 getting new models this update.

There is in fact more than one new catalyst not shown in this preview! The purpose of this post is to show some examples of the new direction for catalyst implicits (with some exciting examples), art styles, and the new rigging in game (so floaty). But there’s much more to discover once the patch drops :honeybee:

There are more quests which grant idol slots and passive slots than you can obtain in total. So you do not need to complete every idol/passive reward quest in order to get all of them. However, you will still need to obtain these from quests, so if you skip too much, you may need to revisit quests to collect your rewards.

This also helps make things smoother for multiplayer, where you may join someone further along, and end up missing a few quests, so you can still potentially obtain all of your idols/passives joining someone further along.

The example of singularity provides 12% more hit damage to all hits. Crit as a baseline offers 5% chance of 200% damage, which is an average of 5% more damage, however far less reliable in when you actually get more damage. Crit can certainly be scaled higher than what singularity can offer.

However singularity is intended to fill a place for builds that may use slower more powerful attacks where having unreliable crit chance can be unfriendly, or for hybrid hit/dot builds which don’t want to invest passives and affixes into crit. Or even to run until you get to a point that your crit can out-scale the damage singularity offers.

It’s not designed to be a be-all end-all damage boost to all builds, but provide a boost to certain builds in leu of stacking crit affixes for the cost of a single 1x1 idol slot.

Hello Travelers!

As the community continues to expand, we find certain questions regularly come up in game, on our official discord, or in other places. We wanted to provide a centralized resource to find developer responses to these common questions. As more questions commonly come up, we will continue to add to this FAQ.

Table of Contents

Hello Travelers,

As much of our community is aware, every Friday one of our game designers - Mike, hosts a dev stream. This stream is an opportunity for us to hang out with our community, play some Last Epoch, answer community questions, and maybe, reveal a teaser or two about upcoming content.

What many people might not be aware of is that each month we pick a charity which all proceeds from the dev stream are donated. For the months of January and February, we were contributing dev stream proceeds to Save the Children. Save the Children is an organization which works to improve the lives of children through better education, health care, and economic opportunities, as well as providing emergency aid in natural disasters, war, and other conflicts.

Last Friday, our Game Director Judd posted a statement concerning the happenings involving Ukraine and Russia, and the relations to the Eleventh Hour Games studio having team members in both countries.

As part ...

Hello Odif12321!

1.) This is accomplished by the same button. The minion command button (default “A”) is context sensitive. If pressed while hovering over an enemy, it will command minions to attack that enemy. If pressed over an empty space, it will command minions to move to that space. Once minions move to this empty space, their normal AI will resume, so if they’re close to enemies, they will resume attacking those enemies unless another order is given.

2.) Minions receive 50% reduced damage from all sources. There is a couple of outstanding bugs where this is not applying to all minions for some AoE damage sources, which we do have fixes on the way for.

3.) Mana does in fact have a fixed base regen rate of 8 mana per second for all classes. There are no attributes to increase base mana regen, only percentage increases. The reasoning for this is that mana is a controlled resource for ability usage and is an important part of balancing abilities. You can get ...

Haha, sorry about that! That one’s on me. I used a different method for this post which unfortunately resulted in that response from the forums. I’ll ensure it does not happen again.

I just want to quickly clarify that you’re making some assumptions here about what we said. Just because we said option “A” won’t exist, doesn’t mean we’ve confirmed option “B” will exist. Nor does not confirming option “B” will exist, mean it won’t exist, but you seem to believe we’ve said/confirmed something to be which we haven’t.

I’m sorry it’s felt this way, however I guarantee you we listen to as many players as possible - not just pay attention to streamers. We’re often watching the forums, in game chat, reddit, and steam. Even if we don’t actively respond to the threads as we want to let the community have a conversation without our influence, we’re reading and discussing it. We regularly bring up community posts within the team a...

Yes, sorry, I agree, It could use being clarified. My intent was more to provide the clarification here. I should have clarified in my post that we would most certainly be taking the feedback to improve upon verbiage. Thank you Llama8!

Hello EnuwEpoch,

The node which grants the greater puncture - “Cadence of Death” states “Every third puncture deals more damage (multiplicative with other modifiers) and in a larger area” when you hover over it. This is the greater puncture in question, which the following reliant node “mutilate” also causes it to consume all bleed stacks and deal damage instantly.

The bleed damage does not double dip. All of your stats were applied to the initial bleed damage when it was first applied. It takes the stacks of bleed, adds up all the damage and deals it “instantly”, basically making the bleeds run through their timer in an instant. Like how Taste of Blood causes bleeds to speed up, this node does the same, just speeds up all stacks to an ‘instant’, they still remain the original bleeds that were applied.

We have a standing policy, included in the code of conduct not to discuss disciplinary actions.

Regarding players you may find in chat violating the code of conduct as you have outlined - First, I’m sorry you had to experience this. Making racist comments, spam, and excessive vulgarity are against the code of conduct. And while we certainly try to create the most welcoming environment we can in chat, we cannot guarantee all instances will be caught.

This is why we are both expanding our roster of community moderators, as well as introducing a report system with the coming chat system. Of course, you can always submit a screenshot with a support ticket if you feel something is going unaddressed, and we can ensure it is looked into and addressed appropriately.

As far as something being “civil”, it means to be courteous and polite, to follow conduct of good behavior. In other words, it’s a shorthand for following the code of conduct.

As per our three outlined principles, they are one in the same. “Moderation” is not simply addressing negative actions, as “mods” are in some games. Moderation is guiding conversations, providing an environment in which people are able to have a civil discussion regarding a topic. By being helpful members of the community, or “guides”, they are already actively contributing to the goals of what moderation is by contributing to the creation of that environment. “Our moderators are community guides and helpers first, moderators second.”

I certainly understand the concern with such a highlighted case scenario where a community moderator program didn’t pull through for the community. However there is many cases where community moderator programs have flourished. One of which I’ve seen grow and flourish for the last eighteen years without any major incident, and continues. It is a program which will require a significant amount of oversight, and we will need to adapt as we grow.

We like to keep very close with our community, with open channels of communication, and always try to be as responsive as we can. I believe that with this approach, we can see the Beesfriends be one of the community guide systems that flourishes. The important part is that we listen to not just our community moderators, but to our community as a whole, so we can address any issues occurring with the community moderator program before they become significant issues. And I like to think we’ve shown that we have that commitment to openness...

We strongly believe in taking in feedback and criticism from our community, taking it into consideration, as well as acting on it. We don’t believe trying to hide that criticism by moderating it helps anyone, and there’s always something to learn from it - even if tangentially. We may not necessarily agree, but if that’s the case, we’ll try to take the time to explain why, rather than remove it.

Haha, yes I did see that. It took an almost inhuman amount of self control to not post “just wait a few days”. We’ve had this program for some time now, but wanted to make a full post regarding the topic of moderation, and the Beesfriends.
