Sorry to hear this @dethfactor

Could you please try the following and let me know if the issue persists?

Delete Darktide AppData and Verify Integrity of Game Files:
(Please note this will reset any custom keybindings)

  1. Press the Windows key + R
  2. Enter %appdata% within the search input and select ‘OK’
  3. Navigate to: AppData\Roaming\Fatshark
  4. Delete the entire ‘Darktide’ directory
  5. Launch Darktide as normal

You will then need to use the ‘Verify Integrity of Game Files’ option, which is accessible via the Steam client and will ensure the installation is complete.

  1. Right-click Darktide in your Steam library sidebar
  2. Select ‘Properties’
  3. Select the ‘Local Files’ tab

Hi @ZinStonehead,

Sorry to hear this.

For Adventure mode, if you QP into a map, you get QP rewards. It doesn’t matter if QP made you host a new lobby or if you join an in-progress Custom game lobby.

Though, if you QP into the Keep and then the host starts a Custom map this then won’t count as QP.

I believe Chaos Wastes should work in a similar way.

I’ve raised this with our QA team and we’ll check things out, as it’s possible that there may be an underlying bug.

Thank you for the report!

Hi @RZN_FatShart,

Sorry to hear this. Unfortunately, your logs are truncated and where they cut off abruptly (likely at the time of CTD) they are missing helpful information for troubleshooting.

It’s a shot in the dark, but can you please try the following and see if the crashing resolves?

  • Perform a Selective Startup, which can help to identify if a background application is interfering
  1. Press the Windows key
  2. Type ‘msconfig’ and select ‘System Configuration’
  3. On the ‘General’ tab, select ‘Selective Startup’
  4. Deselect ‘Load Startup Items’
  5. Reboot your PC
  6. Launch as normal, and see if the issue persists

If the crashing no longer occurs, you can try reintroducing your programs one-by-one...

Gotcha, thanks for the update. I’ll relay this information to our Chief Financial Officer and we’ll investigate to see if there’s a pricing threshold issue.

Hi @Royal_Blue,

Sorry to hear this.

Did you recently enable the Steam overlay before trying to purchase these? As this error can still persist for a short time after enabling the overlay.

Also, in case this was a temporary issue, can you please check again and let me know if you still have the same error when trying to purchase these cosmetics now?

Please let me know, and apologies for the inconvenience.

Thanks for the update! Sorry to hear this still hasn’t helped :frowning: it’s a very unusal issue!

Unfortunately, our launcher-developer doesn’t have any further suggestions at this time. Though I’ll keep in contact with them and let you know if they find anything else we can try.

Your friend could try restoring his PC, though I appreciate this is quite a length to go to! If they do try this, please let me know this goes!

@Ophion I’ve been informed that you should be able to work around this by doing the following -

  2. Enter %appdata% within the search input and select ‘OK’
  3. Navigate to: AppData\Roaming\Fatshark

Apologies for the wait @Ophion, I’ve chased this up and can see that we have a fix internally which is currently in code review. Once this passes review this should hopefully then make it into our next update.

Thank you for your patience.

Apologies for the wait @Valorean, I haven’t received a response yet, though I have nudged the development team a further time. Hopefully there may be something else we can try :crossed_fingers: I’ll be in touch as soon as I hear back.

In the meantime, if your friend is able to try reinstalling Steam, and then a clean reinstallation of Vermintide 2 this may well be worth trying - and if this fails it’s another potential solution we can then rule out.
