Hi @Owlensteintm,

Sorry to hear this.

Can you please try changing your DNS to 8.8.8.8 (Google) and see if this helps?

You can find how to switch to Google DNS here:

Hi @qvs,

Sorry to hear this.

Regarding connectivity errors, which errors are you encountering specifically (if they are detailed on-screen)?

I recommend trying our connectivity solutions which may help. In particular, trying Flush Your DNS and Change Your DNS (to Google) may improve things. Please see:

As above, you can try resetting your settings via the launcher button.

Or, you can delete your Appdata Darktide directory. To do so -

  1. Press the Windows key + R
  2. Enter %appdata% within the search input and select ‘OK’
  3. Navigate to: AppData\Roaming\Fatshark
  4. Delete the entire ‘Darktide’ directory
  5. Restart Darktide as normal

@fbolduc, I’ve queried this. It works - but the stack indicator icon is not currently shown correctly. I believe the fix for this hasn’t made it into our upcoming patch, but it should be in the next update after this.

  2. Enter %appdata% within the search input and select ‘OK’

Sorry to hear this all.

It would be very useful for us to learn more information on the type of error that is occuring here. In order for this, could you please do the following -

  1. Launch Darktide from Steam
  2. Wait until the Steam play button returns to the original state (Launcher has crashed)
  3. Open your PC start menu and type “Event Viewer” and open this application
  4. Explore Windows Logs/Application
  5. There should be an Error log here
  6. Please provide a screenshot or copy of the error text

Thank you in advance!

I can understand your concerns and frustrations all. Please rest assured that your feedback here has been relayed internally. After speaking with the development team further about this, it’s my understanding that the loadouts needed to deleted in order to fix a crash. However, we dropped the ball to communicate the necessity of nuking loadouts. Going forwards these shouldn’t necessarily be reset again without a forward warning.

Our apologies again for the inconvenience.

@jauroth apologies for the delay!

One of our developers has been able to take a more in depth look at this. Unfortunately, we can’t determine the exact cause, however there appears to be something external (possibly Anti-Virus) which is quarantining some of your game files.

We recommend checking your Anti-Virus or Windows Defender to see if anything is being quarantined.

Also please ensure you have appropriate Anti-Virus and Firewall exceptions in place for both Darktide and Easy Anti-Cheat. You’ll need to add the following exceptions:

  • Darktide.exe in \SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Warhammer 40,000 DARKTIDE\binaries
  • EasyAntiCheat_EOS.exe in Program Files (x86)\EasyAntiCheat_EOS...

Unfortunately this is the case for all players post-update and we’re unable to restore the deleted loadouts :frowning:

Our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience all.

Thanks @PentaSquirrell, looking at your logs you may be having a difficult time as your system specs are on the lower end of Darktide minimum requirements, and your installation is on a HDD rather than an SSD.

An Engine Developer has also taken a deeper look and after launching a Deadlock crash appears to be occurring when creating the game window. Unfortunately we can’t identify the exact cause, but this could likely be due to streaming software or a gaming overlay causing an issue. Essentialy, any external program that might be hooking into the engine but isn’t working properly. Do you use anything like this?

It may be worth trying a Selective Startup which ensures nothing other than the essential services are running on your PC. To do so:

Hi @jauroth

A couple of thoughts here -

Firstly, if you are using any mods, please try disabling these.

Failing that, I believe this crash may be being caused due to interference from Fasoo Enterprise DRM on your PC. Could this be why?

Hi @PentaSquirrell,

Sorry to hear this. Could you also please provide your launcher log so we can take a look at this too?

Thanks in advance!

Hmm, was Steam overlay already enabled or did you enable this while in-game? Sometimes after enabling the overlay it can take a few minutes before transactions can successfully be made.

It’s also possible it may have been erroring due to a temporary connectivity issue.

Can you please try again now and let me know if the error perists?
