You can try deleting your local save data and redownloading your save from the cloud.

We aware are aware of some crashes that are currently affecting our console players.

Please see details of these crashes below:

  • Host can crash when a client Necromancer sends a command to her skeletons and they die (or target enemies that die) before the request reaches the host

  • A rare crash can occur when a Gutter Runner is attacked by skeletons while all remaining heroes are invisible (Only possible in Chaos Wastes)

  • A crash can occur when a Necromancer dies while wielding a 4th slot potion

  • A crash can occur when a Necromancer bot is replaced or a Necromancer player leaves while being chased by a soul from the ‘Soul Harvest’ talent

  • A crash can occur in long sessions when more than 511 of certain buffs have been added (e.g Necromancer’s ‘Soul Harvest’ ripped soul stack)


Please rest assured we’re working to resolve these crashes as swiftly as possible.

The error in the logs indicate a conflict with the Overwolf overlay.

Could you please try disabling this overlay and check to see if the issue resolves?

Hi @RebelComander,

That checks out, usually the Exit Code 0xC0000005 indicates an Anti-Virus/Firewall conflict.

You can also try adding Anti-Virus and Firewall exceptions for both Vermintide 2 and Easy Anti-Cheat.

You’ll need to add the following exceptions:

  • vermintide2.exe in \Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Warhammer Vermintide 2\binaries
  • EasyAntiCheat.exe in \Program Files (x86)\EasyAntiCheat

Unfortunately, crashes like this which are specific to your GPU and all of your system variables aren’t all straightforward with a catch-all fix :frowning: Your logs show a GPU hang, where it stalls and results in the crashes you’re experiencing.

I understand you’ve exhausted all of our usual solutions. If you can provide additional recent crash reports/console logs I can try escalating this with our Engine Developers; though I can’t guarantee they will have further suggestions; or alternatively I can assist with a refund. Please let me know if this is something you’d wish to do.

Hi @Kiba_Mar-Glas

This specific crash should be resolved in our next update. The current cause is a specific sound device being set, then this device being removed/disconnected with Darktide closed. Then upon relaunching it isn’t recognising the sound device and is subsequently crashing.

In the meantime, you should be able to resolve this by removing your Darktide Appdata directory (please note, by doing so you will lose any custom settings/configurations e.g. keybindings).

To do so:

  1. Press the Windows key + R
  2. Enter %appdata% within the search input and select ‘OK’
  3. Navigate to: AppData\Roaming\Fatshark
  4. Delete the entire ‘Darktide’ directory
  5. Restart Darktide as normal
