We’re still mostly out of the office and there’s lots of figuring out what the future of the Shark Tank will look like. Too soon to say. But we do want to up our stream game in some capacity.

Thanks to team and composers for bringing the best soundtrack in the game (by my humble opinion), but I feel like Nurgle soundtrack from Collector's Edition is quite different from what I expected. It feels like a calm, ambient version, instead of battle one, like the one extracted extracted by Janfon1. All other tracks are complete bangers though, specially Citadel one.

True that! I'll ask the questions here.

These will be slightly different, they were edited to be standalone pieces over the ones pulled out of game files.

I also apologise for the timing. =) I know how many hours you would have had to pour in to flicking through non-descript file names to pull the soundtrack out of the game files!

What a beautiful thing you've made here!

Our Support team really leans on this site to sanity check things, a really helpful clutch having so much information in a lightweight and wickedly easy to use interface.

I don’t think we have explicit plans to do a standalone challenge pack. Typically we release challenges along side content releases.

It all depends on context. I've worked on various projects in which logging was the performance bottleneck. Of course, the main cause was often bad programming or a system running in a debug state, but the fact is that depending on the language, logging library and amount of log statements that need to be processed, logging can have a very noticeable impact on performance.

I don't really have a clue what logging in games entails in regards to volume and message size, but I've seen first hand how research and enterprise software can be bogged down by bad logging approaches.

It can happen here too. Often when a mod becomes incompatible. It can hit the console log pretty hard and fast and has been known to degrade performance, notably on older or lower spec machines.

I imagine logging impacts performance, right?

Logging can in the overarching sense yes -- the more rapidly a log file is written to, the more resources it consumes. For this though, it's just to capture additional information when specific crashes occur, so shouldn't impact performance in any noticable way.

We have a date internally, but not yet ready for sharing.

I don’t believe so, sorry to say. But there may be plans to have another kind of beta whilst most (but not all) the Sharks are out of the tank for the summer holidays. No promises though. I’ll...

Additional logging for some of the more prevelant yet equally evasive crashes.

It's what we call a tools update. Usually it's a revision to the launcher or such. In this case it's just a bit of advanced logging surrounding a few of the most frequent yet perplexing crashes we're seeing.

True on both counts, but total warhammer doesn't have end times in the title

Aha! That is where I have you at a disadvantage. Only the first game had "End Times" in the title. The second one is free of it. Behold the Steam page.

And it would be a fun death! We could go look at dead Louen, hang around Altdorf, maybe meet Vlad!

Maybe meet Kurt too. Shit, we survive it, Victor gets to meet Sigmar. Wonder how that would go.

It is still a 'The End Times' game, just that on a default-layout-Steam-library, both games would have been indistinguishable in the list as the first game already falls outside the readable area, and slapping a 2 on the tail end only falls further outside the default view. In fact, I think when we released V2 you couldn't adjust the width of the library like you can now. So we did have to beg a little to drop the "The End Times" nomenclature, but under the strict rule that if I saw someone say "whoa no more end times?! YES!" I had to intervene and say, well, basically what I just said <3

Hi! Is there any chance that we could get a little more info on what the "miscellaneous crashes" that were fixed were? Things like crashing due to binding an ability to a mouse button are attention grabbing and have a clear cause that the community found, but I'm real curious about the causes of the ones that are harder to pin down. Whenever there's the occasional crash in the middle of the level, most of the disappointment for me personally is just from being stuck wondering what caused it and I'd be very interested to know what kind of weird technical stuff the team has been able to track down and fix.

If it's not an easy thing to get info on or you don't want to share that kind of info for whatever reason that's perfectly fine though, this is just to satisfy my own personal curiosity. :)

It's possible for some of them, sure. I can make sure to sort that in the future.
