There is content post-launch, like the Nuzlocke mode, the arcade bar or the 3rd mythical. And the passes have new quests and items, which are content too. Endless islands and tems are not a sustainable cycle for us.

I actually think Temtem would benefit a lot from going F2P with a microtransaction/BP model since the game appeals most to a younger audience. But having them on top of a paid game seems questionable.

They're entirely cosmetics to cover server costs and healthy sustain of the game in the long run. We actually announced it years ago and have always tried to be as transparent as possible about it.

I have 2 questions. Is the entire game online only? And is there cross-platform co-op?

It's always online, and there's cross-platform and co-op for the entire campaign.

A sensible comparison is fine, but comparisons between Pokemon and Temtem often simplify one or the other's core features (I don't think Temtem's MMO aspects really are like the online wild area) and ignore the totally different backgrounds and contexts for the two.

We've never shied away from explicitly talking about the many ways Pokemon inspired Temtem, but there are a lot other games that have influenced us as well. What YaW might've meant is that we're not a 25-year old, multibillionaire franchise, and as such there will always be things that are out of our reach, and these factors are often glossed over in comparisons.

The definitive, pro-trick that no one's told you: buy it now, wait until September 6th to start playing.

Hi! I think I've answered this question in the past, but I can't find it.
We're not currently considering taking the server down in the future.
If things went wrong and that time came around, we'd think of a solution for it then. But it's definitely not something that's in our heads right now, so we can't give you any more conclusive answer.

I can't imagine tems take up much storage space. Even if all 500K players had the max amount of tems I don't see how I could use that much space.

They do, actually. There's a ton of data associated with each Temtem and a ton of Temtem on every account.

Tamers looking to explore the Archipelago on Xbox, rejoice! We just got green-lighted, so Temtem will have fully functional cross-play and cross-progression on Xbox too.

This effectively means all platforms will have fully working cross-play and cross-progression!

See you all on September 6th!

Play with everyone, from anywhere, on any platform!

Server space does not come out of nowhere, and we made the barrier as easy to overcome as possible, with the quests having no battles and requiring little effort given there's now teleport. We explained why the quest is the way it is and specifically went into why we had to do it this way to be able to provide more space free of charge for everyone. I can totally understand it being annoying, but damaging words like stupid or lunacy are really out of place here

You can now request a content creator key for Temtem, in preparation for our September 6th launch!

You'll be able to choose any platform and region after you've cleared out the requirements! Our publisher, Humble Games, will be managing and approving the requests, and the keys will be delivered around 1.0, so please be a bit patient.

Have fun and Temtem up!

A handful of peeps already said this, but we're saving our bigger marketing efforts for launch and post-launch, as the game right now has a lot of its Early Access flaws and there are many great changes coming. I have seen people getting Temtem ads online tho!

It's unlikely that we'd be showcased in a Nintendo Direct, for industry reasons, although we'd love to. As for a PS showcase, we appeared in one iirc! And we've appeared in a couple of PS videos, plus they post us on their socials when we launch trailers and stuff. We even have TV ads in certain countries.
So the point is that more marketing will come and you're right that it'd be nice, but also to keep in mind that we're a small company with a small-ish publisher, and not to expect billboards or a Times Square ad.

It does require NSO. Only F2P games are exempt from needing platform based online subscriptions.

Boots is correct. Try as we might, our game is not exempt from requiring NSO.

It's very very very deeply optimized, but that will not protect it from server issues or queues, as those are different issues and unrelated to the Switch. Our server is more prepped now and has been improved since the Early Access launched, so we're hoping it'll go smoothly!

Like some people in the convo said, it runs at 30fps. It has been optimized -a lot- and we believe we've squeezed the platform's possibilities, but we will be posting a video soon so you can judge yourselves and make an informed choice :)
