I had a look through your post history to grab your RSN and unless you're on a different account then the bot detection is working as intended in this case.

You botted during your Pest Control grind and got banned for it.

Ah, that's referring to Melee defensive stats in particular and is intended!

Use your imagination!

Unfortunately, we're not able to secure art time to provide concepts right now. I'll make sure they're shown prior to a poll if we get them before then though.

Isn’t the duel arena gone after this update? Meaning no more 10m stakes

Yes, it will be removed and NPC's in the area will instead direct you towards the PvP Arena

Otherwise this blog/PVP arena sounds amazing thanks for the hard work

Yes you'll need Trouver parchments for the items to remain safe above 20 Wilderness.

Glad you like the blog!

It should not be cheap but this gear is so extremely niche that it shouldn’t be anywhere near something like Torva. I don’t understand how anyone can argue against that. I am sure y’all understand that, though.

There is a balance we'll have to achieve, that's for sure :D

The problem with Thaw potions went both ways - players had a more viable escape, but the bigger problem was presented by the PvP community. They offered protection to skilled PKers from freezes, essentially nulling any potential escape that relied on freezing.

I'm hopeful we'll get agreement on a similar solution in the future!

Making everything untradable from Emir's Arena is the correct call.

My only problem is that due to it all being untradable, how will the armour work? If the armour is too strong, no one will be risking much in PvP anymore and this will kill PKing more than ever.

My assumption was that the armour would come in a broken state and then be restored using GP and then when you're killed in the wilderness, you drop that GP. That is the only way I can see this new equipment not overshadowing anything currently in game. But the prices (to repair each piece) need to be stated on the blog before we vote imo.

Only other thing i'm disappointed in is that their won't be a proper ELO rating system. Hopefully that is something you guys can work towards because I think thats how the PvP Arena and Runescape PvP in general can thrive. Games like League of Legends, Valorant, etc all have ELO systems in place and a lot of players love the competitive nature of it and fighting ...

The gold required to repair the items will be dropped to the killer on death, so that's where the risk comes from. It's very different from how things are currently, but in essence the transfer of wealth is the same, just gold instead of actual items!

The melee super void's KO potential is on par with torva. Surely you aren't considering risk levels in the hundreds of millions?

It won't be cheap to repair the higher tiers.

There is no direct monetary gain from the PvP Arena.

Unless I missed it somewhere in the blog, I'm still confused about what kind of PKing this will involve. Is it NHing like in LMS? Or is it Edge/PvP World style PKing?

It'll be NHing like in LMS yeah, especially now that the stats have changed to allow multiple combat styles!

We're still working on refining the exact details, but it should be a matter of weeks rather than months.

Edit: it won't be Singles+ however. We scrapped that and instead will be proceeding with a PJ timer - this was tested within a beta recently.

So I guess you're comitting to not needing gloves on the super voids.

Can you briefly explain why untradable pvp armours should be as strong as 1b+ risk torva setups or 150m+ risk ancestral setups? One of the chief complaints for rs2 chaotics was that they were stupidly strong relative to the risk and how much pre-work you had to do for them, while rewarding the killer with very little. The power of the new super voids almost guarantees people are going to be playing in non-intended ways in order to get max rewards because the new super voids are so strong.

We haven't revealed the costs to repair the gear yet, so the level of risk/reward isn't known.

Once we've finalised these numbers I'm sure it'll be clearer how much risk is associated.

There aren't any focus groups of sorts that I am aware of, but I am working with the Marketing team to see if we can feature them in a future Gazette to give some more insight into the work they do :)

Hey there, thanks for raising this! While the topic is open, the Performance Marketing team wanted to give some insight into how they work and their overall approach:

Our core objective as a team is to grow RuneScape & OSRS in the most efficient way possible. We do this by running paid advertising campaigns focused on bringing in new players & encouraging players ‘on a break’ to jump back in again.

With Performance Marketing campaigns, data is at the heart of what we do, and we try to follow the numbers when analyzing what works and what doesn’t.

This data-informed approach involves us regularly A/B testing different messages, videos & and imagery to our audiences. We can then see what resonates best & iterate from there. We are constantly doing this to ensure we make the most out of our marketing budget and bring as many players to (or back to) RuneScape & OSRS as possible.

Sometimes what may appeal to brand new players or people that h...
