We’ve recently deployed a hotfix for this issue.

In order to catch the fix, players who are experiencing it should use the exit game button to log out of the game completely and then log back in.

On November 28, we enabled the Free Character Transfer service for players who have characters on high population realms that were experiencing consistent, extended queues.

  • Free Character Transfers will be closed for all realms after 11:00 a.m. PST (2:00 p.m. EST) on Thursday, December 17.

We strongly suggest that any players who intend to use a Free Character Transfer do so as soon as possible. If this service is available on your realm, you’ll find it in the Services section of the Shop on your character selection screen for that realm.

    • (Conduit) Unnatural Malice’s effect is reduced by 50% in PvP.
  • Mage

  • Rogue
    • (Conduit) Reverberation effectiveness reduced by 50% when engaged in combat with enemy players (was a 30% reduction).

We’ve made a few further adjustments to the plan for tuning coming with scheduled weekly maintenance.

Druid

  • Balance
    • Starfall damage reduced 6%.
    • Balance of all Things [Legendary] now causes Eclipse to increase your critical strike chance with Arcane or Nature spells by 40%, decreasing by 8% every 1 second (was 50% crit, decreasing by 10% per second).

Hunter

  • Marksmanship
    • Aimed Shot damage reduced by 5%.
    • Arcane Shot damage reduced by 5%.

Death Knight

  • Unholy
    • Mastery: Dreadblade effectiveness reduced by 20%.

There currently is a bug, yes.

The mouseover tooltip that lists your top runs has been excluding runs that fail the timer. That is a display issue only. The rewards will be correct on Tuesday, and you do not need to beat the timer for your Mythic Keystone dungeon completions to count towards progress.

And that is a separate issue. There’s often a delay of a few minutes before the Great Vault UI updates to reflect a recent Mythic Keystone completion. While we look into that, we’ve found that logging out of WoW and back in will force it to update.

Soon after the Castle Nathria raid went live for Normal and Heroic difficulties this week, we discovered a bug that was causing an unintended additional amount of loot to drop. Due to this bug, bosses have been dropping an average of 5 items for a 20-player raid group, when an average of 3 items is intended.

Throughout the design and testing of Shadowlands, we’ve had a consistent goal of bringing a similarity to the rate of loot acquisition that players experience in each of the main endgame activities: Raiding, Mythic Keystone Dungeons, and PvP. This bug, if left unaddressed, would prioritize Normal and Heroic raiding over similar-difficulty dungeons and PvP progression.

We’re developing a fix for the issue, which we will implement with scheduled weekly maintenance (Tuesday, December 15 in this region). Neither the bug nor the fix will affect Conduits and Legendary Memories, as their drop chances are determined separately.

Reaching Renown 7 unlocks a quest in your Sanctum, and that quest enables the increased upgrade cap. The quest is given by the NPC that shows you your Renown, so for example, if you’re Kyrian, it’s Iona Skyblade.

We’ve seen several questions recently about how PvP progression will look over the next few weeks, and we have answers.

First and foremost, Honor is the new currency that was introduced with the Shadowlands Pre-patch. Players can earn Honor from honorable kills, Battlegrounds, Epic Battlegrounds, skirmishes, Arenas, and Rated Battlegrounds. Honor can be spent to purchase gear from Purveryor Zo’kuul in Oribos. This gear can be upgraded by Agressor Zo’dash for Honor. The upper limit of this kind of upgrade is determined by your Renown level, and players can hold a maximum of 15000 Honor.

Conquest is an additional PvP currency. Players can earn Conquest from Battlegrounds, Epic Battlegrounds, Arenas, and Rated Battlegrounds. Players can spend Conquest to purchase gear from Zo’sorg in Oribos. This gear can be upgraded by Agressor Zo’dash for Honor. The upper limit of this upgrade is determined by your current highest rating bracket in Arenas or Rated Battlegrounds:

Mythic Keystone dungeons and ranked PvP are opening with the beginning of Season 1 tomorrow, and there are a few aspects of the first week of the Season to highlight.

During this first week of Mythic Keystone dungeons, there is a cap on the increase of item level of end-of-run loot. That loot will stop increasing at Mythic Keystone +10 for this first week, which is item level 203. However, the Great Vault will be uncapped the following week, and loot from the Great Vault (on December 15 in this region) will reflect successful completions achieved during the week of December 8. The Great Vault will award item level 226 for completing Mythic Keystone +14, and other completion item levels can be viewed in the Mythic Keystone tab of the Dungeons and Raid window once the season begins.

Late yesterday, we implemented some adjustments to Torghast intended to improve the experience for rogues and warriors. While we haven’t yet compiled today’s hotfixes update, some players might appreciate a detailed look at the changes that went in.

Torghast – Rogue Anima Powers

  • Organized Vial Satchel now reduces the cooldown of Crimson Vial by 10 seconds per stack (was 5 seconds) and has a max stacks of 3, for 30 seconds cooldown reduction (instant cast vials).

With a hotfix to the game that went live yesterday, we improved the drop rates of Legendary Memories relative to dungeon difficulty. Their Mythic difficulty drop rate is now significantly better than on Heroic, which is significantly better than on Normal.

More importantly – the drop rates for Legendary Memories are much higher in Mythic Keystone difficulties, and they ramp upward with the Mythic Keystone level. The availability of Legendary Memories should increase dramatically next week.

The question raised in threads like this one have been on our minds a lot as we’ve been testing on the PTR the last couple of months.

So let’s take a moment before Naxxramas releases tomorrow and talk about how boss abilities work in WoW Classic and Original WoW.

Why doesn’t Kel’Thuzad use abilities on strict timers?

The simple answer is, for the most part, that’s not how boss abilities work in World of Warcraft (Classic and Original). Bosses and other creatures are rarely set up to have exact timers for spells and ability usage. They often make decisions which were set up to be somewhat unpredictable. Multiple spells or abilities can be available to the boss, and they will deliberately evaluate what to do following their last spell cast.
