I just wanted to chime in - quickly and tell you that I've been reading your feedback and thoughts. One note also popped out at me - there is no pay model to test 0.9.4, it does not require you to purchase anything in order to participate.

We know that people have expressed their concerns over the introduction of subs, and how they'll impact the game. During the test, please be sure to provide detailed feedback on subs. We appreciate people sharing their opinion on this - but, give us feedback that goes into detail.. or dare I say DEPTH. :) We're going to be reading over all of the feedback we get on these the test, so the more detail and feedback on your experience the better, from either side of the water.

I've been around, I started a new account when I started working at WG. I understand why some people may not want this - I worked very closely on this very topic at my last company. I'll ask the questions you've posed regarding Steam migration, I cannot say for certain.

Regarding the installing on c:\, I'll poke around in the morning and figure out why that might be, but I agree with you, I'd prefer to be able to install it on whatever drive I'd like.

I understand launchers, stores, etc, differ from person to person as opinions go, personally, I am not as concerned about how I get into the game as when I get into the game - but that is me.

Above all of this, I ask everyone to remain civil, and not turn this into attacking people, regardless of what side of the fence their opinion about this change is.

Thanks for your feedback on the rollout of the launcher. While obviously some of you are for, and some of you are against it, we'll continue to make improvements on the launcher, and, as issues arise, we'll address them. That said, I am not going to try to make you believe my words when I say I personally enjoy the launcher - I work here, I am sure it sounds like I am toeing the corporate line or something, but honestly, I have personally not had an issue with it, on my home PC, work laptop, or personal laptop, so I'm interested in what has caused the issues that have been mentioned in this thread. Please, if you do install the launcher, and you experience an issue contact our CS team, or drop a thread in Support, and we'll look into it.

While I cannot speak directly to the process that goes into these kinds of changes - understanding the landscape of things as it relates to design plans is a critical part of it. I don't know that I have ever worked for a studio that made changes based on how they 'feel'. This is kind of an answer without being an answer, but not out of wanting to ignore it, but because game development is never black and white.
