With all the issues in the game currently the amount of detail and care that went into a game mode that was taken out originally is impressive. I would like to see more of this on the other major items affecting the game. We have other updates on items or comments by devs about hot fixes but nothing has quite felt good enough. This one though was refreshing.

Glad you like it. :)

Let's try to keep up this messaging.

Interesting changes, would really like to see Rush stay as a permanent mode because it was pretty fun the last time we played it.

Since Kenturrac is here, can we get an update on the missing stations (or out of bounds) for the Breakthrough mode? We talked about them 4 months ago and I've also put them all in one picture

Still have it on my list. I actually have that screenshot attached to it.

Sorry for the wait. :3

Not entirely sure which point you are asking about.

For one we replaced the artillery canon mesh that was used instead of the MCom we had in BF3/4/1. The big one that is used in Airborne just didn't fit to well with the gameplay of 32 player Rush and it was common feedback that people can too easily hide. Those seemed like good reasons.

Then we also removed the artillery call-in when interacting with the canon. This system got introduced with BF1 and while it made a lot of sense back then and at the start of BFV, it seemed a bit out of place now since we have the reinforcement artillery call-in.

Hope that answers the question.

Thanks! <3

I enjoyed writing it up and maybe we can do that again in the future.

I'm super excited for this by the way. The changes that you folks made to Frontlines took it from one of my least favourite to one of my favourite modes - https://www.reddit.com/r/BattlefieldV/comments/ce3l36/dice_i_beg_you_keep_frontlines_its_so_much_fun_now/

Glad you like them. We constantly evaluating existing content and think on how we can change it up a bit or improve it. :)

I think Adam answered the question pretty good in his post: https://www.reddit.com/r/BattlefieldV/comments/cehrxp/community_broadcast_changes_to_rush/eu2tki7?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x

And honestly, I just love Rush and enjoy the challenge of improvement.

Has there been any consideration to change the vehicles to predetermined tanks? As in having a Tiger and Churchill on Twisted Steel, but a Panzer IV and Valentine on Narvik, etc. etc.?

My biggest gripe with both BFV and BF1 is that the idea of 'player choice' gets in the way of the general threat level and balance of the vehicles. Tanks aren't scary in this game like they were in BF4, BF3 and all the previous games. They aren't monsters that take an entire squad to take down. Assaults can unload all their explosives on the back of a Tiger and blow it up in one go. Would there be any chance to lock the selection of vehicles on a per map basis, rather than having the player choose a tank? I feel like it would make for a better experience overall, as the maps wouldn't be catered to every single tank (the AA tanks being moreso useless on maps that are tank heavy) and inste...

Never say never, but currently there are no plans to do that.

We really want to give the player control and freedom in that matter.

On the matter of tanks being monsters. I think it really depends which one you pick and how you play. The tiger can eat a lot of damage, if facing the threat head on, but yes, its weakness is the back. Through that we add a lot more depth to the dynamic play between infantry and vehicles. Btw, I played BF3 and 4 today. (Still great to go back to them from time to time). In both games, a single engineer could take out any tank. 2 C4 are an instant kill and the engineer carries 6 rockets (BF3). It really all depends on on the players facing each other. :)

Hmmmm, will check with the team. Thx for bringing it up.

Had a chat with the team. The progress there shows the position you reached. It's possibly not obvious enough. Basically what it show here is that you reached a position above 32. Judging by the progress, it's most likely around 50 of 64.

You indeed only have to reach 32 or better once like last Chapter. The same assignment existed there as well.
Also mind that this is your personal position. Not the team position.

Right. That change happened a while ago though. So I was just confused that this showed up now with the recent patch just released. I had a conversation with the Lead Lighting Artist and we will evaluate the situation again in the upcoming days. Depending on that, we might make an adjustment or leave it the way it is.

Why potentially leaving it?
Visibility has been a constant complain since launch, but the negative sentiment faded significantly since the re-introduction of the soldier rim lighting (from previous BFs). So we see this as a success.
We currently have no intention of removing this lighting again, but maybe we haven't hit the right tuning for Panzerstorm yet. So let's re-evaluate this again. :)

Keep the feedback coming! <3

Can someone confirm that this is happening for more people?

We did no changes to Panzerstorm. So if this is an consistent issue, it's not intended.

Both are available in the Grand Operation. And who knows, maybe they might show up again now and then as 32 player versions. ;)

I'm a Level Designer and I get bombarded with questions related to character art, production, skins, sound bugs, NDA and unreleased stuff and whatnot. But a few of us are crazy enough to enjoy that! haha

I just want to second this. All of it. I also would like to add that this year around 10 timea a screenshot of a thing I said on twitter ended up here on twitter. Most of them didn't completely misrepresent what I said, but all of them were delivered out of context. Not once was the link to the whole twitter conversation posted. Things like this put my relationship to twitter in a really weird spot. Please twitter people, less of that. Always link the source.

Having that said, I still show up 2-3 times a week to see what's hot and burning.

Fair enough. I am sorry. I have been pulled out of context and put on display once too often on Reddit. I am probably just a bit over careful. Carry on please. :)

Oh, and the factions are Axis and Allies. We don't distinguish between countries as you have seen so far.

Do you mean we will never see the introduction of individual nations as their own factions?

I mean that currently in the game (I wrote "so far") we have no other representation other than Axis and Allies. As you know, you play as Allies in Rotterdam, Devastation, Panzerstorm, etc for example. In regards to the future? I don't know and/or can't tell. I am not involved with customisation nor would I talk about the future. For those kinds of information look out for official posts and news.

Even if I remember correctly from couple of places such as DICE twitter, battlefield V artbook and tweets from other devs, there is too much changed. Some of them what I hear is a little dissapointed me because some old iteration concepts are far more interested me than current ones.

Such as twisted steel with a defensive line like Bf1 maps. I expected that map became perfect breakthrough map because it can be include escaut sector of maginot line, especially for that marketed as like that. It can be give map a better soul, a better connection with ww2. And can be far more interesting experience at breakthrough.

Or different lighting, different time of day at narvik.

The amount of changes listed above apply to any level in any BF game or other game that I worked on. You build something, you test and evaluate it, you change it if required. No level is perfect on the first try. No one is that good. Normal process and not specific to Battlefield.

For Twisted Steel: The main difference to the first version is the amount of vegetation. Swamps are normally not filled with trees. You can imagine the amount of sniper fire that would come from the bridge if you would remove 50% of the trees. ;)

First and foremost it's a game and fun gameplay is the most important metric. The battle in Rotterdam was tiny, but the transition between from this beautiful city into the devastated version was just very appealing story to tell. Another main reason was the massive requests we got during BF1 for more city maps. The Fall Gelb operation just seemed the perfect place for this. I am sorry if you disagree with our pick, but we are actually super proud of the two maps turned out.

I want to clarify my last post " Oh, and the factions are Axis and Allies. We don't distinguish between countries as you have seen so far. "
This considers content that has been released so far. As you know, we don't talk about future stuff be it maps, theater, modes, cosmetics, etc unless it's officially announced. So please, never read any of the possible futures in the multiverse into that. :P

Not sure what /u/tejmin wanted to hear. I see 3 possible options I had:

  1. Ignore the question and don't post here.
  2. Post and lie that I forwarded it.
  3. Forward it and post that I forwarded it.

Really up to everyone up to judge. :)
