Would love to see this type of lab implemented as a permanent gamemode.

We think it has promise too. Keep playing and keep giving us feedback on what could be better, that's the best way to help it on its journey!

In the Lab of Legends, you start each game with however much health you had at the end of your last encounter! Each boss battle will refill your health if you're victorious.

I havent seen heart of gold yet (I am not sure if you mean you found no fitting effect here) and only finished one playthrough yet. But I could see it giving some effect like the wyrding stone has with +1 mana as long as the unit is in play.

Dig it! And yeah I just worded that poorly; no HoG in this Lab, sadly enough.

I'm curious. Why did you use old items that no longer exist in league? My guess is you started before the item overhaul and decided to keep it?

That's a good question, and a good guess. But actually we pretty intentionally used old-er items since the mode is an experiment, like all Labs! The idea of using items in this way is something we're just starting to explore, so we don't want to anchor players (or ourselves!) too much on the idea in case it evolves in a different direction later on.

...plus, going through some of those old icons was a big nostalgia hit. Didn't quite find the right item to match Heart of Gold, maybe next time! ;)

Thank you for your detailed thoughts! We're excited that people seem to be enjoying them, and equally excited to keep experimenting in this direction.

More to come. :)

Just throwing in my 2 cents here. Im getting it on PC and on Android both.

Thank you! u/Turbanite would you mind checking your Loadout and seeing if any of your personalization options have a red exclamation mark? Some users are seeing their loadout marked as invalid for some reason.

Thank you! Have you been able to get in since? Seems like this is only impacting some players, we're trying to chase down why.

Hey u/drone2222, which platform are you playing on? PC, Android, or iOS?

Hi u/TheHenoy, this is a good question; changes like these happen for a bunch of reasons, so it makes sense that it's confusing as a player on the receiving end.

  • Some of them are purely about pacing and time for players, like making spell animations overlap one another (sometimes). Every cool animation we add takes up time and space, sometimes many times every game and hundreds of times a day for a player. There's a balance we have to find.

  • Others are about clarity and game mechanics. We experimented with a lot of variations on how Barrels might work, and feel like we've found a good balance where they're clear, they don't take up too much board space, and people don't spend too much time watching the same animations over and over again.

  • Rarely... it's a bug. Zoe'...

That's the plan, at some point! It may look a little different by the time it graduates out of Labs.

Glad to hear you've made a bunch of friends!

It has most of the features you'd expect (searching for cards by name, region, cost, etc., browsing related cards) and supports more advanced queries combinations (I mostly use these for making deckbuilding adjustments):

This is very well done.

Stay tuned in the new year!

No problem! I didn't play many card games before I started working on this one either. :)

I hope posting codes here is ok.

Deck codes are just fine, it's not personally-identifying information so no worries.

So you've definitely got one champ and two regions, but you have multiple copies of lots of cards. Singleton specifically refers to having only 1 copy of each card in your deck!

u/OnlyAAThinkingXXX zip me your deck code and I'll try to figure out what's up.

The issue I have with singleton being limited to 2 regions is that it really limits deckbuilding and creativity. I was really enjoying Shyv Dragons and Fizz SI in this lab. Each of those decks need 2 specific the regions to work and now with the change there is really only a single workable Shyv Dragon deck. You start to run out of viable card choices. 3 region singleton has been a deck brewers paradise. I was really enjoying experimenting and trying to find what the best 3rd region for these decks are. I'll probably play a lot less of this lab as a result of the change.

This is good feedback. I'm sorry we limited your creative space with the fix; that was my call so that's on me.

But thanks to the detailed responses from you and others, I think next time we run something singleton we'll plan on it being tri-faction. I know it doesn't help for now, but look forward to that down the line!
