As Scruffy mentioned last week we are looking at jungle XP at the least, with preseason changes not landing as expected there either. I know the specific changes being tested aren't liked by some people, it's something that's already getting worked on though.

Wanted to bring up top since that wasn't something we'd discussed really since preseason by contrast.

Yep, times have changed. Used to be support was the least queued role by a huge margin (around half the selection rate of the next lowest). Still is that low in certain region/MMR cases, generally it's fairly close to other positions now though.

I'll keep putting TFT stuff at the end for those of you who aren't interested in it - once you see it, suggest no longer reading. Others are interested in it though hence its inclusion.

Has Meddler moved completely off SR?

About a year and a half ago I moved to a new role that involved covering design across LoL as a whole. Last year I then took on some additional non design responsibilities as well. That's gradually meant less and less time with the SR team. I still playtest with them sometimes, talk about high level plans etc. I'm much less involved in discussions about champ balance, item adjustments etc though. Since that stuff's a large part of what people want to hear about I figured it would be a good time to get RiotScruffy in to cover more of that half the time.

I'm assuming formally introducing AP Brusiers requires a lot of work in the hole AP ecosystem so I'm not surprised if this is delayed until the next preseason.

Any large AP bruiser item work would likely be a preseason project yeah. Smaller stuff's possible, though don't want to guarantee anything in that regard either given we're still in the planning stages for longer term work for the year.

The thing is, they never really address any big issues in the game in these posts. It's not really the function of these posts to announce big changes though - It's "quick gameplay thoughts" not "here's the AP bruiser rework guys"/"jungle is OP again guys" type of stuff, we would at best see a small footnote about them in posts like this.

Pretty much. Big announcements we'll do through more formal and polished approaches like Dev Videos, Nexus articles, Riot Pls etc. My hope with these posts is to cover things that we don't get to in those places, or to provide additional context/rationale on things we do cover there that some people want to dig deeper into.

If you earned everything from this point on you'd get around 9000 more points. The last reward is at 16000, so you'd have a bit of time to spare even.

Yeah honestly where are the rewards for set1

Not forgotten about. Plan is to talk about ranked rewards, both for the initial set and going forwards later this set.

I'd genuinely appreciate some more insight on the thought process behind these changes, no flame. They seem to come completely out of left field and only serve to worsen what everyone's issue with bot laners seems to be right now, but I am fully aware that I might be missing something here so I would love to hear a Rioter comment on them

Lemme check with the SR team, see if they've got something planned already or would like to jump into that discussion themselves. If not I'll get something into an upcoming post.

I assume support item changes and duo lane XP changes are things you're interested in here. Anything else I'm missing?

Piggybacking on top comment - I got my dates wrong here, forgot that 9.23 was a 3 week patch instead of a two week one. New units should be on PBE around the 25th of November instead as a result, apologies for getting that wrong.

Next week on the 19th or 20th depending on which region you're in.

Yep, our goal is to have a main set that's always available in normals/ranked with older sets brought back temporarily at times. Not sure on exact format for that yet (a weekend tournament? a 2 week mini ranked season? etc). Also not sure when we'll start doing so. Definitely want to give people the chance to replay older sets though.

I expect we'll see her at some point, not sure when yet though

When I have a Jax on a mountain field (+30hp each turn). Then upgrade it to a 2* Jax. Will the Jax keep the +30hp he got the past turn/turns ?

He will yes.

We'll be in it for the long term. Playerbase numbers do fluctuate, especially when there hasn't been new content for a bit. As Jag mentions even towards the end of Set 1 they were still in a good spot though and Twitch isn't very reflective of playerbase size. The addition of the mobile client next year is also expected to increase the playerbase significantly.

Second time we tried out Bard with his R as well - he was a champ in the original prototype set we build before set 1 for a while. That set had similar traits to set 1, though meaningfully different content (e.g. Illaoi as a low cost Pirate Brawler).
