I think the best way to go is once you've done the tutorial and stuff just jump into some bot games with a character you think is cool and just play around some.
Try out a few others and just get a feel for the game. Maybe catch a streamer or two who seems interesting.
After a while when you're feeling comfortable try some PvP games and see how they feel
Are patch summaries going to be anywhere as previously done in Twitter
There's a new Twitter account, @LoLDev I believe. That's where patch summaries etc should be
Can we expect to see Lillia changes today?
If PBE deploys, yeah
Also now enemies can see her passive stacks.
Sneaking it in there, I see you /u/RiotPhlox. Fire the appreciation comments!

Goddamn /u/RiotPhlox, this was a great read. THIS was the extended from the mind gameplay thoughts that we have been missing. Biggest difference I feel is that since Irelia changes is likely your work, the writing feels genuine.
I appreciated that Yetter had this impossible challenge of writing for entire teams of people at once on his own (!), and that always requires a distillation of the content to represent the larger team. But it ended up reading like singular paragraphs for the last while.
I'm really looking forward now to the future quick gameplay thoughts each dev puts out if it stays like this. Hopefully its more content, more topics, and more detail since a single poor soul is no longer burdened with the task every two weeks to come up with something.
Thanks! I really enjoyed doing this so I'm glad you all enjoyed it as well
Great read, and very welcome to have this sort of insight on mini-reworks. I had no idea the Game Analysis Team existed.
Also now enemies can see her passive stacks.
Thank f**king God. They finally swallowed their pride and caved on that one.
The Game Analysis Team (GAT) are real lifesavers sometimes (all of the time). They're great people and real value
Q speed isn't actually much slower,
then why the wording "significantly reduced"? the tweet says one thing, this comment says another
Poor phrasing tbh, it's 6-10% or so based on dash distance. If it feels clunky or rough on PBE please let me know
that's good to hear; i play the champ a good amount top and appreciate attempting to even out the powerspike at least
i'll probably give this a try on pbe sometime tomorrow to see how i feel at the very least, just interested in the emphasis on W which is used to just prep the wave a lot of the time rather than as an actual defining ability of the champ
Yeah, I personally think W isn't a real spell on Irelia on live, so giving it an actual powerful use case should feel a lot better imo
Thanks for reading all the feedback and replying! The Lillia changes are also coming in 11.14 right? Or were those pushed back?
Yep!
idk how to feel
stuff like bringing 4 stacks back and taking away some early damage is cool but the q speed change seems so unnecessary, does riot understand the fun part of irelia is dashing quickly...? not being able to cast e during q also is a big hit to skill expression
also i guess theyre trying to make her a midlaner more than toplaner with the W mr changes? but thats way more toxic than her being able to brawl up top, idk who wanted MR back on W
edit: yeah these honestly kinda suck, who is this for? this does nothing but make the "dancer" champion clunky and reliant on an ability in her kit that already feels out of place (W). who cares if 4 stack is back if the actual process of getting that just isnt fun? removing q speed is the biggest thing honestly, thats hopefully not hitting live
Q speed isn't actually much slower, but I definitely appreciate this kind of feedback because anything on PBE is still subject to change.
I'd love to get some feedback from people who have played her on PBE as well
I did some testing and using the active removes the passive +25% buff, but applying the passive after buffing an ally with the active still allows you to stack both speed boosts.
That is very weird. u/RiotPhlox I hope you don't mind me paging you on this, could you check whether this is behaving this way intentionally?
I'll pass this along to the designer, ty!
Which is interesting, because that means Ziggs is more powerful than he would be if players were facing him frequently and avoiding this mistake. However that also means he has to be nerfed if it made his winrate climb to high, even in niche status.
...how much of Zilean's winrate or bot mages' winrate is the strength of the actual pick, versus the strength gained by the inexperience of enemies punishing/avoiding mistakes against the pick?
I hope u/RiotPhlox doesn't mind me paging him here so he might answer that question in a serious or not so serious way!
This is a pretty complex question, but the usual answer is not a ton if at all. But it also depends on the champ. Playing vs Ziggs isn't that different from a lot of other mages, but Ivern? Maybe a bit more
Can we at least think about Corki the Unsung Hero who also liked divine sunderer. I don't want to go back to Shieldbow Essence. Could you maybe just nerf the healing and bring it back to 10%
Pre sunderer buffs the item was just as good on corki as ER/Shieldbow/Trinity (all within ~1% wr) so i suspect its still a powerful purchase there. If we've overshot i think we could reasonably pull back
Yo those divine sunderer nerfs are stupid. No ranged champ built the item before when it was 10% so why nerf it to 9% that makes no sense.
The item was very good on Ezreal and Senna before the changes, just nobody wanted to use it. I'd expect it's still a very powerful choice for them
I'm excited for Kench, I will have a lot of fun with this kit. He is one of my favorite supports, but I feel like I'm trolling my team when I pick him there.
I am praying that this successfully unbinds him from pro. It might give the devs enough confidence to attempt changes for other pro-bound picks. I'm not thinking about anybody specific. Just champions that are blue, carry a scroll on their back, scale with mana, and have a semi-global warp on their ultimate.
Kassadin?
Just an FYI, the Kench changes here are just indicator changes. No functionality has changes since last deploy
So you boosted with a pie to try to get an early whip from an Abby Demon?
I'm sure you know, but for those that don't know the dagger is a 1/32,000 chance to get it to drop from a normal Abyssal demon, and considering you can only kill a few at a time because you only have a minute until the boost from the pie wears off, that's insane RNG.
Yeah I pied up going for a whip and lucked out lol
Rest in peace sanguini blade o7
