This particular error was flagged as a bug before the maintenance compensation was pushed live, but since the item will still work as intended we decided it would be better to grant the items to players so they can be received as quickly as possible instead of waiting for a fix and file delivery to be made.
We’re carefully monitoring server pops; there will almost certainly be another merge period at some point in the future, but these are the servers we’re starting with first off.
The file is being updated now, so the rest should come through shortly.

I appreciate the advice, but I’ve been doing this for a long time myself. This is far from my first gig, and just as far from my first tough service outage. I spent all of yesterday in the thick of things, but now that the dust is settling, we’re all going keep moving forward together. Lost Ark may be a product and a service, but it’s also a video game. Video games are entertainment; they’re supposed to be fun and enjoyable, and things don’t need to be 100% serious all of the time. It’s okay to take a moment to make a joke and laugh. We’re all humans here, first and foremost.
Patch size isn’t always the determining factor to how things go – for example, some of our smoothest monthly updates have been more sizable. Unfortunately this patch was a sort of “base” build to help us prep for the end of the month server merges, which meant there was a lot of tricky background prep work happening as a part of this
No compensation has gone out yet, so your friends are either confused or looking at something old (or trolling). We’ll let players know when it rolls out!
It would definitely be cool to get it out to our players. Maybe we can swing it for a specific event or celebration!!
Worst LOA ON ever if it was…
This is not accurate – this was not compensation for a downtime extension in Korea, these were LOA ON gifts given to players for a previous LOA ON event.
I would say server merges are fairly common in MMOs, and aren’t generally an indicator that the sky is falling or anything. I did server merges for a different MMO I worked on, some… 5 years ago now? And that game is still up and running with consistent updates to this day.
Sure, our playerbase has declined from our launch (which was absolutely massive) but is still very healthy. When the game launched we had to open as many servers as possible as well as the entire Europe West region to accommodate for the huge flood of players into the game, but now that time has passed we’re really settling in with that stable audience.
I will actually be there next week (not for work purposes this time though)!!
We’re getting final sign off and then will share later today. Spoiler alert, Pheonix Plumes were not on the table even once (maybe we should add just 1 for the memes though?)
