Only separate rooms.

Yes, that's new in 9.2.

Make sure you have zero industrial tables in the rooms with furniture and that that deed is your residency. You can only have one. If that doesn't help, I need screenshots of the rooms to investigate any further.

I'll be honest: I see totally no benefit in doing that, but wasted development time. If you don't want to play on your wifes world, just don't do it, lol.

No. The thing users call 'memory leak' is an extremely hard to track down issue, most likely several that will need several versions of debug tools just to be found and several more to be fixed.

The changelog mentions why this is:

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please make sure to check your property. This update has removed the ability to have a claim spread out over several areas without being continuously connected. Also, you only get housing points from the deed that you have chosen to be your location of residency - all other deeds will no longer provide housing points.

If you were thinking of hints like TerraFirmaCraft has, no Eco doesn't have that. You'll need to probe and use the drill :)

We are pleased to announce the release of Eco 9.2. A large focus of this update was bug fixing and quality of life improvements, but we have added some new fun features to Eco as we prepare for Update 10. This update introduces the residency feature which we announced in detail in our housing blog. Housing bonuses can now be shared with others by inviting them to become a resident of your property. This is a great way for friends to collaborate together on on a home, and it also sets the foundation for the rent and residency based demographics features that we are currently working on for 9.3.

Eh, there is plenty of servers that go until what you see in the screenshots. In fact, those screenshots were made on servers, mostly our officials. I can recommend White-Tiger, starting this friday. Plenty of people. The same applies to the cooperation you are missing - plenty of that on all servers I visit and host.

In regards to NPCs we've already been very clear that this is out of the scope of Eco, as the experience of Eco is based at the very foundation on playing with other human people.

And Singleplayer / Coop / Multiplayer is the endless debate. Steam suggests adding those things when you can play like this. You definately can play singleplayer on your PC and co-op with a few friends, hence it's tagged. The tags do not represent a singleplayer campaign or similar.

Because some recipes ingredients are static by design, they have a different border. That's intended. For the mining machines that's due to there being actual machines that respresent the upgrades instead of modules. It also is used elsewhere, for example to make sure a Steam Truck always needs four wheels.

How did you do that?

They just came at a weird time in the tech timeline where it ended up being useless more or less, so they hardly ever got built. I only ever made one once and that was just to try it out cause I had extra materials.

That's what I said and was intended, it was subject to be removed.

It's way too big, clunky and drives like a 40t truck. It doesn't even fit typical road curves on servers. It was the first vehicle we made and is officially replaced by the Steam Truck. We just keep it for history now.

I think it worked well, because in the base game a solo player can destroy the meteor themselves with a bit of effort, and a group of friends can do it easily. We set the resource requirements at a level that would require input from all players across all professions as a sort of 'global effort.' I think it worked both thematically, and as a way to discourage those isolated groups.

I actually think the multiple governments concept was borne out of these 'friendship groups' too. Will be interesting to see how that plays out.

Ah, you are one of my former admins. Full ACK on everything you said :) Feel free to reach out to me in Discord when you got time, always interested how people have been doing :)

For others: The non-official server was pretty much the same, my private server just was converted to an official one, as I had no more time to keep up a private one anyway.

His experience is just the game working.

He wants to create an economic cartel that wields disproportional market power but then views the democratic will of the rest of the server to discourage that sort of economic activity as an abuse of power.

He says that he always plays that way, which means he has never experienced the other side of that 'competitive,' 'just a few friends playing together' scenario. I suspect if he tried playing differently then he would become more sympathetic to the laws that try to keep that behaviour in check.

In the end, learning about those shortcomings of economic systems is the educational side of the game (perhaps it might illuminate why we have laws against cartels/oligopolies). If you stick to just trying one thing over and over again, you are missing the real value of this game, in my opinion. Try different things on each play through and be open to the question of 'am I the asshole' as you are playing those different st...

Just out of interest: Are you the australian Cavias, one of my former admins? :D

That's why we had made it useless in tech tree and planned to remove it. But some people still liked it so much we put it into the techtree again. I'd never use it myself, but some people seem to have fun with it.

Yes, Update 9.2 will allow sharing houses and the respective skill bonuses, see the latest news on Steam.
