And no, we have an internal name, which - especially right now - makes it occasionally tricky to assure we're correctly saying "Anno 117"
I'm a bit sceptical about the new stuff with sessions - them not being forcefully interconnected. It smells like Ubisoft is pushing for Anno to be more opened and dumbed down. But we'll see. Hopefully there will be enough incentives and interconnection of product chains and needs fulfillment across different regions/sessions to even do that.
I would say: wait a bit for when we go more in-depth on those topics.
Having the option to do X doesn't mean you don't have the option to do Y. One key principle for us is player choice.
Due to the claim that you can stay in a session, I am guessing that you can build either native residences AND/OR Roman residences (as colonizers). So if you start in Albion and choose to build natively, you don't necessarily need to import from Latium, but if you want to increase Roman rule (or some mechanic) then you gotta ship that olive oil up north.
Presumably there will be a mechanic almost like eco balance (cultural balance?) that weighs Celtic residences against Roman colonizer residences and maybe you'll have rebellions if the balance is off.
Very interesting theory.
Just dropping here that if you ask our Brand Director Haye, she will tell you that the correct way would be "one hundred seventeen".

I’m going to call it and say similar to Enbesa in Anno 1800, you’re going to be called to assist Egypt with a Cleopatra-esque character. There’ll be pyramids in the npc settlement. Something something Nile river as the primary water source.
The goal will involve revitalizing totally not Alexandria and like Enbesa will grant research boosts with a great library back in Latium.
I’m also just going to out on a limb here and say there’ll also be a totally not Constantinople dlc where like Cape Trelawny you get access to a huge landmass to build a super city on.
Cool theory. Here's a deal: if you're right about an "egypt" DLC in general and the features in particular, you'll get a key for it.
If not, why not write a nice poem about it?

Who knows what we might do in the future but a good remake is not an easy thing to get right, and with the History Editions released a few years ago, there is a version of the old games out there.

Sorry but I don't buy it. 2 months of investigating, no official communication, evasive answers from customer support? Anno 2205 is most likely on the bottom of the priority list . My guess is - all of this is a preparation, a groundwork to give us some bullshit excuse to never turn it back on. 'sorry dog ate our homework and rats bit some important cables and neighbor flooded us so we are unable to turn it back on. It is not us! We promise' Ubisoft customer support since you are so lazy you can use it - ctrl+c ctrl+v it to official channel. Better that than 2months of silence.
You are of course free to not believe me, but what I wrote above is the current situation and there are no plans to deactivate any online functionalities.
The servers were not shut down... something like this would have been announced.
We are aware there are currently issues with the world market, it's under investigation, but the cause of it has not yet been identified. We hope to have an update soon and return the world market functionality to Anno 2205.
