Rivers are part of the design of the New World, the challenge they bring was an intended factor in the overall feeling and challenge for the New World from the beginning.

Now, with Anno 1800 slowly coming to an end, we decided to add the riverless versions (of existing islands!) to the overall map pool after all. But the new slots from the expansion will be filled randomly with (preferably) the new islands.

That looks really cool! Sliiightly out of place in Anno, but I do like these models, awesome work!

Community Developer, but I guess you're talking about me? :D

5t fish for every normal cycle? And I thought the +300% boost from the palace was powerfull. I'm gonna hire him for sure.

And that bait specialist is gonna come in handy for those who are looking to exterminate the polar bears even more efficiently to make them investors happy.

The screenshot is a bit older, the numbers are switched (i.e. 1t every 7/5/4 cycles)

Heyho!
Throughout the game, from farmers to investors, we're slowly progressing through the 19th century and ultimately entering the early 20th century, with certain innovations (e.g. machines, airships) and architectural achievements (e.g. skyscrapers) - we are not limiting us to e.g. everything up to 1870 or something. The small step into the early 19th century is intentional.
Additionally - and even more importantly: Anno games do take inspiration by real history, but are by no means aspiring to be historically accurate. The Anno world is its own thing, with its own characters, timelines and rules.

Of course it's fair to not like our approach, but comparisons with our real world history are only partially useful when Anno is set in its own world.

Note: I just completely made this story up, please, dear Game Writing team, don't lynch me. Thank you!

Correct, yes. While the overall German studio network is called "Blue Byte" now, it consists of three separate studios: Ubisoft Berlin, Ubisoft Düsseldorf and Ubisoft Mainz.

Düsseldorf is working on The Settlers (and always has) while Mainz is us (Anno team) as well as co-development teams for BGE2 and R6S.

Hello,
Last night I dreamt of a Titanic-like monument ship! It is the perfect age for it and so in theme with Anno! Additional mechanics could include selling 1st/2nd/3rd class tickets and travel to the New World/Crown Falls full of tourists. You would need to provide on board entertainment, recipes and luxury items for the duration of travel. Omg i want this please
Sincerely,
Me

Cool idea and a "Anno-Titanic" would probably also fit nicely into the game, but right now we are not planning to add something like this into the game. Sorry :/

It would be cool, no doubt, but from a performance point of view, it'd be a nightmare ;)

Could it be that some of the production buildings are also placeholders in this build? Like one's using the restaurant model

A few buildings still missed their feedback units in that build, but the buildings themselves are final otherwise.

So on the stream you guys maybe forgot to scroll down to see the 3 additional basic needs after the 8 ones the UI shows at once?

The UI for the Artistas now has actually been adjusted to 3 columns, no scrolling needed.

It's an old build they played. They swapped the goods between basic needs and luxeries a few times already and they weren't there in this build.

Correct! We adjusted both the needs as well as UI recently.

Perfume, Fans and Scooters are regular needs for Artistas.

Additionally, they're also added for a few Tiers across the Anno world as Lifestyle Needs (e.g. Obreras also love scooters, Artisans like perfume, Investors ask for fans, ....)

This makes me a bit sad. Not because I don't like the look of what is being added. I do. But because I was enjoying my current save. I had just got to the good bit. All the basic systems and supply chains were beginning to take form .... and now I don't want to continue. Now I want a new save with all the new stuff.

u/Ubi-Thorlof please go to the office and tell them we need it tomorrow. 8th Dec doesn't suit me.

The team said "no" - sorry!

This is all current in-game footage - I believe the wave behaviour just depends on the perspective of the video and it also may be different depending on the coast.

  • We’re not getting Crown Falls
  • We’re not getting a new session, current session is being expanded
  • New islands will be colonize-able by airship and not by boat except for one.

I’m looking forward to a proper teaser that gives us some insight.

Not sure where you got the last point from, but that's definitely not the case ;)

It's a shame though, would be really nice to have that option.

Though it may just be an odd logic thing, for example the separate client for free weekends is really weird too. It's limited to the first three tiers which is FINE for a trial but then it seems like it should always be available - free weekend events usually have the full game instead. And then worst of all you can't continue your save when you buy the full game.

All our latest free weekends (since at least 2021) include the full version of the game and the savegames are compatible with the regular version. This reduced version of the game for free weekends was only a thing in the first year or so after release.

It's far more than just a new UI, there would also significant programming effort required to make this work. And right now, we consider this too high effort to implement, I'm afraid.

No problem, thank you. Personally I dont really care about its presence on the Trello board though, if you allow me, but far more about its resolution, because like many, I've been stuck on that bug for weeks and it feels like the Team doesnt really care.

PS : yes I know about the "workaround"

Of course, yes, a resolution would be preferred. Can't give you a date yet but a fix should come with Game Update 16.
