Yup, we announced about 30m in advance on social...sorry for the short notice. It was a quick maintenance (15m-ish) and well run it in EU late tonight, around 330am local.

Nothing major, but there was a crash that happened a couple times on Esamir that we wanted to knockout ASAP before the weekend.

Thanks for the feedback! First off, something I'll guarantee: the Dev team is always watching, reading, listening, and gathering us much intel from the community as we're humanly able (here, twitter, twitch, youtube, facebook, etc). Perhaps to an unhealthy degree :) It's always GREATLY appreciated, so please keep it coming.

A few of the points you mentioned - Mission UI/notifications, Lore delivery, NPC conversation - are already on our radar. With massive updates like this, with entirely new systems going into the game, there's always a trade-off between wanting to get things exactly as we originally envisioned (and taking the extra months of development required to do that) and getting to a good place to get it in front of our community, with the plan to keep adding, tuning and tinkering over our time. With a team our size, we usually opt for the latter approach - we're in no way done with the Mission system, or Esamir, and certainly not with Campaigns. These are def s...

Thanks for starting this thread. We're looking at EVERYTHING today (and through the weekend). Regarding rewards, Missions and Rewards both are randomized each day, so it'll be a few days before we have enough data to compare how things are shaking out vs how they were. But we'll keep looking at it and make changes as necessary.

Similar feedback regarding pop near the Shattered Warpgate - right now there's a RUSH to fight around the new area, but I'd expect that will calm down a little bit in a few days. We'll watch and see.

And we definitely have plans to keep adding and diversifying Mission types, both the standard dailies and future Campaign (story) Missions. Many of the newest ones were added late in the process, and we're going to want to see how they perform, how fun/popular they are, etc over the next days and weeks. But more are coming, definitely.

Wrong icon, right helmet. This will be fixed with our next hotfix (likely today).

All PC Live servers will come down for maintenance tomorrow (Thursday, September 24) at 6:00 AM PDT / 3:00 PM CEST. Downtime is expected to last until 10:00 AM PDT (4 hours total). Tomorrow's extended window is due to two separate maintenance operations that we've chosen to run concurrently so we don't need to bring servers down twice. One is standard backend maintenance on PS2 PC servers - the second is a Daybreak Ops maintenance on our Login servers. While that second maintenance does not technically require bringing game servers down, it is likely that Logins will be affected until it is complete, so we're playing it safe and bringing servers down for the duration. We hope to start bringing servers back up by 9:00 AM PDT and beat that 4-hour estimate, but will be providing live updates on our official Twitter... Read more

No connection. Like Andy said, it's just a new environment we're testing out. Nothing exciting to share :)

And judging by their behavior, I'm willing to bet they're as dumb as a bag of dogshit.

I can't speak toward specific tactics we deploy, but we do have a dedicated team at RPG devoted to in-game monitoring and account-level enforcement of our community policies, particularly relating to racist, sexist, or homophobic harassment or abuse. We take this VERY seriously. It's always a battle to catch every instance on a live game, but in cases like this where the abuse is clear-cut and well-documented, we can and will act swiftly.

Thank you for reporting this, Trinity - it's heartbreaking to watch, and I'm so sorry you were the target of this kind of unconscionable abuse. We are moving immediately to take action against the individuals responsible. Sharing the clips and details really helps us weed out player behavior like this, there's no place for it in our community (or any community). Still so much work to do be done. Please feel free to reach out to me directly if you have any questions about next steps that we're taking.

This would be AMAZING to do, and if we can scope it out and it makes sense, we'd love to try it for future OW finals events. Andy/Wrel chatted about this a bit on our last stream, but Outfit Wars is going through a pretty major rework - we're pretty happy with the competition itself, Desolation is great and it led to some pretty epic matches in the first two competitive cycles. But the qualification process needs revision so it's more equitable and less disruptive to the regular game. That's where most of our OW focus is. More to come when we're ready to share of course :)

Hey guys, theres another thread where Wrel cleared this up - we don't consider this an exploit, as Wrel explained on the other thread, it would be on us to prohibit behavior like this using no deploy zones if we intended to enforce it as such.

Sorry for the confusion, the player's temporary ban has been lifted and we clarified that this behavior is fine with our CS team.

I'm sure the devs wouldn't do another battle royale thing after PSA and H1Z1... Right?

It is not a battle royale thing :)

Don't worry, we'll show everything off in full tomorrow on-stream!

It does. But they seem to be ready regardless.

So there will be more visuals and really set the tone for how they did it all.

Which you can't really do in these articles.

The livestream will go into MUCH greater detail, with live gameplay that press were not privy to. We'll also share concrete details on exactly WHEN you'll get to play everything, on PTS first (what i suspect people care about most).

In a perfect world we would've streamed the same day as our announcement, but it was a little tricky to line up so many interviews in advance and get the build ready for the stream. So we took the extra day knowing viewers would care more about seeing real gameplay than just learning the bullet points.

Thank you for all you guys do, do pass along our appreciation with the whole team!

I also see the articles seemingly hide or not include the Indar Revamp lul.

That wasn't intentional - it just wasn't the focus of our presentation with press (many of whom have only casual familiarity with PS2, so we focused on the most newsworthy features).

I'd expect that some of the smaller features and improvements that get "buried" in a press release or interview will be pretty exciting to core players, including some of the changes made on Indar, re-balancing of the War Asset system, etc. This is a really big update.

do we have a scheduled time to get on?"
Yup, we're organizing sessions at 8am PT (5pm CEST) and 2pm PT tomorrow, Sat Aug 22, to accommodate both NA and EU players. We'll likely run it back at the same times on Sunday, if we can get enough concentration on PTS. Please join us!

We've published a small but significant performance update for PTS that includes optimizations related to physics processing that should help with the hitches some players experience in particularly large fights (60+ players in an area). The code changes were significant, so we're hoping to see concentrated pops on PTS over the weekend to ensure there aren't any major issues at scale before we publish to Live servers. There are still further optimizations on the horizon, but this round of changes should significantly improve your performance while in combat with concentrated groups of players. Will leave this thread open for feedback over the weekend!

PC servers will come down tomorrow, Thursday, August 13, 2020, at 6am PT (3pm CEST) for the update below. Downtime is expected to last up to two hours. Misc. Changes, Fixes, and Additions
  • Fixed an issue where the Colossus Shield could be activated indefinitely.
  • Fixed a map bug where the Bastion indicators would not orient correctly.

Unrelated to this patch, we wanted to share that the 451.85 Nvidia driver hotfix appears to have corrected the seconds-long freezing issues a lot of players have been experiencing (props to GroundTrooper for sharing in the PS2 Discord): https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5046???????.
