No. (But keep in mind that you might still have to start a fresh new world for all new content to appear!)

You can't blame other customers not knowing when Valheim goes on sale. They can only assume because both the developers and the publisher are not allowed to disclose sales prior to them happening (because of an NDA with Valve). For the future, I recommend using SteamDB and checking the game's price history. This will give you an idea on when the respective game might be on sale again.

Additionally, I recommend reading reviews and watching some Youtube videos. Plus, you again have the option to buy and test the game. You can refund it if you haven't played longer than two hours and submitted the refund request < 14 days after purchase.

You are totally free to discuss about game modifications - Just keep in mind that they're not officially supported.

The patch will go live on stable hopefully on Monday at the latest, ideally sooner.

With "work [...] started" I'm referring to the whole dev team focussing and working on Mistlands. Not just one person, in this case mostly Richard, experimenting with ground textures (October 2021) or terrain generation (November 2021). In February 2022, they were more or less done with nailing down the concept of the Mistlands, this got announced too (along with a little concept art). In early March 2022, work fully started on the new biome, Mistlands.

I hope this gives some more insight!

Work on Mistlands started in March 2022. The 9 months per biome are a rough estimate.

On a PC your saves will be stored in the same folder regardless of whether you're playing through Steam or with PC Game Pass, so you can theoretically easily switch over from one to the other. However, I would recommend choosing one platform and sticking to it (rather than switching back and forth continuously) in order to avoid conflicts with Cloud saves.
As for getting your saves over to Xbox, this should also work as the two Game Passes share the same Cloud service. You will need to play it with PC Game Pass first though, to get the saves from your computer to the Xbox Cloud, before you can access them from your console (you can't go directly from Steam to Xbox). Once again though, you should still choose either Game Pass or Steam, so that the two Cloud services don't try to conflict with each other.
The good thing about crossplay though is that it doesn't matter which you choose - you'll still be able to play with your friends regardless of whether you're all on conso... Read more

That is my understanding as well. The console part was outsourced.

Hi! First of all, console is still a ways away (the release on the 29th is for PC Game Pass, while Xbox won't be released until early 2023).
As for patching, we will still keep the Public Test Branch in use, as we think it's a good way to let some users try out stuff before everyone gets access to it. Both testing and releasing will always be done with both multiplayer and singleplayer - no build will be locked to only allow solo play.
And it should only be the bigger updates that need thorough checking and validation before release, while hotfixes should still be possible to release on shorter notice. Even if hotfixes would need to be checked, it shouldn't affect the Default version of the game much, as it's ideally only the PTB that will be unstable. And the validation time isn't very long either, so there's no cause for worry! :)

Iron Gate Studio has the right to increase the price for people who do not now own a license to play. Where would one get the idea that they do not have that right?

<3

And for those who think the price is to much. We regularly partitipate in steam sales so keep an eye out for those, or try Humble store which also does sales every now and then.

Hi! The Euro price adjustment was a decision from Coffee Stain Publishing, to ensure the game’s pricing is more in line with the American dollar price across the globe and corresponds with local exchange rates and markets. The Euro and US dollar exchange rate has changed since the game was first released, and now the pricing of the game reflects that.

You have to link your Youtube Account to your Steam Profile, then you can select which videos you want to add to your profile. This is the only way.

Since a new biome is being introduced, and maps are generated at world creation, will we have to start our world over once the update drops?

I'm assuming, since character data is separate from world data, that we would keep all our character specific progress (skills/inventory), so I'm not TERRIBLY concerned if we have to start over as it shouldn't take too long to catch up, but just wanted to know what to expect. Not sure if this has been an issue that came up in previous updates or not.

The world is generated as you explore. If no player has been to (or near) a specific Mistlands area, that area should still get the updated content! Anywhere you've already been will stay essentially the same, regardless o... Read more
