Hi @StinkEye,

From the logs I can see you’re running into a Deadlock crash, which can be a little tricky to troubleshoot.

Can you please try changing from DirectX 11 to DirectX 12 and see if this helps? You can switch DirectX versions using the ‘Settings’ menu within the Vermintide 2 launcher.

Hi @mashmonster,

Looking at the two crash reports provided you’re running into an Access Violation type crash. However, the first log references an issue with your GPU drivers, and second log references NVIDIA PhysX.

The logs definitely nod toward it being a GPU issue, so I recommend trying solutions here:

Are you using an external monitor for your laptop?

Hi @KalleCarrion,

Based on the information in the logs, it appears that Microsoft Basic Render Driver is set as your default GPU. Do you have another GPU that is not being detected?

This is consequently resulting in your crashes in Vermintide 2, as your default GPU cannot handle the demand.

Please see below for our solutions for this problem:

  • Ensure your monitors are plugged in to the dedicated (as opposed to the integrated) GPU ports on the back of your PC
  • Perform a clean re-installation of your GPU drivers using the appropriate instructions below:
    • For AMD GPUs: ...

We’re not all clued in on what possibilities there are with Twitch’s new tech, just that their new tools arent compatible with our 4 year old game so we need to make some changes to keep twitch mode in Vermintide 2 working.

Heroes!

Throughout February, there will be some intermittent interruptions of the (now legacy) tech that drives Twitch Mode in Vermintide 2. This will ultimately lead to a “permanent” shut down on the last day of the month. We still have some work to implement the changes needed to retool the Twitch Mode to work with the new tech in place.

As soon as the changes are implemented and verified on our side, we’ll work to hotfix the issue for our PC players. There will be a more protracted downtime for our players on PlayStation and Xbox as we will likely place fixes into the next content updates on those platforms.

Twitch have published the schedule for the planned downtimes of this service:

  • February 9, 2022 – 2-hour shutdown starting at 11:0...

I recommend contacting your network provider and explaining that you’re unable to connect to https://5107.playfabapi.com/ (our server address). They will need to look in to this for you, unfortunately!

This is the sort of issue that usually resolves on it’s own, but it can also occur when the item you’re attempting to purchase drops below the pricing threshold set by Steam, which can happen in certain countries.

Could you try the ‘Acquire’ button on another, more expensive item, and see if it works? (Don’t proceed with the purchase, obviously!)

Good to know! Thank you for checking, it helps us out a lot too.

Should you wish to continue using Astrill it may be worth reporting it to Astrill Support. It also may well be a short-lived issue that will resolve on it’s own.

Is trying another VPN an option for you? Just so we can rule out whether this is isolated to the VPN or not.

The error in the log DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED indicates a GPU-related crash.

If you’ve found that changing to DirectX 11 works I’d recommend sticking with it!

Though, you can try other potential solutions here:

Hi @GiantFriendCrab,

This is possibly related to your user_settings.config being set to ‘Read-only’. Please check this article out:

I’m really not sure on this one. I don’t think it would correlate with the update to Easy Anti-Cheat as I would expect it to be more of a widespread complaint otherwise but I won’t rule it out!

Steam was a bit unstable yesterday, I wonder if that could have something to do with it. See how it runs today perhaps.

Investigations are continuing with the latest updates from Valve and Epic, too soon to go in to any findings though.

It sounds like Easy Anti-Cheat is placing you in to an “untrusted” state, which mimics the errors we would expect to see in the ‘Modded’ realm. I suspect something is interfering with Easy Anti-Cheat, could you try a ‘Selective Startup’?:

  1. Press the Windows key
  2. Type ‘msconfig’ and select ‘System Configuration’
  3. On the ‘General’ tab, select ‘Selective Startup’
  4. Deselect ‘Load startup Items’
  5. Reboot your PC
  6. Launch Vermintide 2 as normal and see if the issue reoccurs
