This is mod-related. Please disable your mods until the mod authors have updated their mods to be compatible with the latest patch.
Sounds like the MyHero Mod.
It’s not bugged, but certainly badly balanced. We do have changes coming in the next update, I believe.
Sorry for the delay in approving your post - could you load up Vermintide 2 and let me know if this error is still being displayed to you please?
Oh no! Could you try switching to DirectX 11 within the launcher’s ‘Settings’ menu and see if there’s any improvement?
So we believe some of your issues here are related to a recent backend hiccup we had, and the other appears to be a Steam-related loss of connection which will hopefully be addressed by this in our most recent patch:

We’ll look in to it!
Welcome to patch 2.0.13. This patch includes a batch of fixes and tweaks, ahead of Geheimnisnacht which arrives in Vermintide 2 next week.
Be sure to stop by our Fatshark Stream this coming Friday the 25th of October for details on this year’s Geheimnisnacht celebration, the end of which marks the end of Season 1.
The Backend rejected the challenge response
error is usually related to our anti-cheat service, Easy Anti-Cheat.
Try verifying integrity via Steam or if unsuccessful, repair the Easy Anti-Cheat client using the EasyAntiCheat_Setup executable located here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Warhammer Vermintide 2\installers\EasyAntiCheat
Doesn’t look like your logs have attached here - are you experiencing the COULDNT_RESOLVE_HOST
error?
Our anti-cheat client (Easy Anti-Cheat) automatically blocks most RGB controllers due to their use of old, exploitable drivers.
I’ve reached out to Easy Anti-Cheat in the past to request that various RGB controllers are whitelisted but unfortunately they were unable to honour my request due to the reasons above.
I can only recommend that you disable the software prior to launching Vermintide 2.
I’ve had this; there is, unfortunately, two separate triggers in this area that uncommonly trigger around the same time.
Does look to be GPU-related, the GPU is essentially disconnecting during play.
We have some potential solutions listed here.
Additionally, do make sure the GPU is seated correctly.
Hello, I’ve responded to your query via the Support Portal.
For anybody else experiencing this issue, please see our article on the Connection Timeout error here.
Jep!
Is that adequate information?
Both errors appear to be the result of the Simple UI mod.
I’ve raised this with development, apologies for the inconvenience.
